What is this revolver? I really, really like it.
S&W Schofield ( or another manufacturers version) I believe
They came in different 44S&W calibers and a 38 too, and all of them have a hinge to make reloading easier on horseback
And yes my modern weaponry knowledge is dull but I really love old west weapons and know a little more about them than newer guns

Model No.3
V6 of this thread should be "Coolest/Ugliest Military stuff" imo.
Couple weeks back I wanted to post some rad camo patterns but I was like oh shit "Weapons" :c
People post planes and shit all the time, pretty sure posting camo'd be totally in the clear

Damn but if it isn't a sexy revolver

I wonder if you can still get them anywhere.
[editline]19th March 2014[/editline]
Apparently S&W, Uberti and Armi San Marco make 'reproductions' that are slightly beefier versions of this, which i'm down with. But damn do they cost a pretty penny.
I really want a colt revolving rifle now :(
Can't post top breaks without mentioning the Webley.

Or the Webley Fosbery, a semi automatic revolver which isn't a mateba!

I've never been fond of the Webley-Fosbery.
Though, Forgotten Weapons reminds me:

I'd love one. Good ol' thirty aught.
turns out though, that helicopters fly so low they are already stealthy!
also if you make the rockets fold inside, you can't fit as many rockets in, with the apachee you can fit more rockets per square foot of rockets!
The RAH-66 wasn't meant as a replacement or supplement for the Apache, though. It was supposed to be the new recon, taking over for the Kiowa. The Kiowa, which carries less dakka than the Comanche did.

100 round mags are the best.

Serbia is of worst AK.
But the huge mags are pretty cool.
Are you sure those are Russians? I didn't think the Russians needed to be plainclothes anymore. They could be rebels
That picture's from pretty early into the invasion, and unless there've been unreported deaths of Russian soldiers in the area, I don't think there's any way Ukrainians would have those launchers.
[editline]20th March 2014[/editline]
Also, apparently a while back someone told Russia the 9x39 wasn't crazy enough, so they came up with this

The ASh-12.7, a bullpup assault rifle chambered in, wait for it, 12.7x55mm

Well we've got .50 Beowulf ARs, so...

Extremely rare Гепард - Gepard SMG - this weapon never really made it into the mass production...Internally, the Gepard uses a modular firing mechanism, which can be reconfigured to fire six different 9mm cartridges...

Looks almost like they slapped an orange Glock frame onto a PP-19-01 Vityaz.
that's pretty awesome
My favourite revolver, the Nagant M1895:

It's a revolver that can actually be silenced. The cylinder gets pushed forward when you fire, which closes the gap between the cylinder and the barrel. Because of that, it has very interesting rounds:

Sadly that's pretty much all there is to it. Reloading is a pain, because you have to manually push out the shells with a pin, which isn't spring loaded.
Overall it's a pretty revolver with an interesting design.
1691 Beretta Flintlock, complete with Davy Jones tentacle beard and creepy meme faces:

They're pretty stupid quiet when suppressed:

Damn, it really is. That recoil too.
It fires just like an airsoft gas blowback, but even quieter. Barely any recoil or sound.
I remember watching a Hickok video and when he fired a suppressed pistol, he said most of the sound came from the action of the pistol itself. Can't recall which video, could have been the one when he tested a wet suppressor against a dry one.
But yeah, if that's true, revolvers don't have a lot of moving parts and the parts that do move don't make much noise.

anyone bothered by the fact that there's a missing frame exactly when the 3rd or 4th round is fired?
[editline]20th March 2014[/editline]
wtf scratch that, it doesn't happen anymore
Scrolling past that flintlock made me think, has anyone ever tried to recreate them with a modern action? Like, same look and aesthetic but easier to use and fire.

No, just like, with a modern day action, so maybe like single action or like bolt action, hell i dunno, just same look but with a modern, easier to use action. Like, something from our day and age.
I dont really get how you would modernise the flintlock action or are we still talking about flintlocks at all? or just black powder firearms in general? maybe you could make some kind of internal type of flintlock but it sounds like a bad idéa
Have this.
Well we've got .50 Beowulf ARs, so...

The difference between the Beowulf and the ASh is that we built the Beo to shoot out Toyota's that'd been fitted with Katyusha launchers, the ASh is made for shooting Chechens, although given the current situation Russia seems confident it will work just as well on Ukrainians and Estonians.
Well, if we're talking black powder firearms in general; this design is still super-outdated and doesn't belong anywhere in the 21st century, but it is a semiautomatic.

And, in a more elegant weapon for a civilized age...

P cool paint job on this pump gun, and I'm usually not one for camo'd up/painted guns.

I prefer to keep both of these at my bedside in case of a sentient tree-attack.
With all the shit they put into fertilizer nowdays, it never hurts to be cautious.

Damn Ents!
Nothing cures a bad case of the Ents like a chainsaw and a shotgun with dragons breath rounds...
