It's not that it's that tall, it's that it's narrow. Hind is to the Hip what the Cobra is to the Huey; same engine and transmission and jazz, all slapped in a sleeker package and with more dakka.
Also, regular Hind is so much hotter than Superhind, you guys. Sure, it looks meaner with the 30mm and the bulging front, I guess, but it totally breaks the awesome curve and the sleek, smooth and rounded looks the Hind got going.

Pictured there is a H-912 transport container, part of the Mk-54 SADM (Special Atomic Demolition Munition) system, an American made backpack casing for the W-54 class nuclear warhead, with a yield between 10 and 6 KT (6.000 tons) of TNT, same device used in the Davy Crockett weapons system. Plan was to paradrop engineers into enemy territory, then use that lil' thing as an area-denial weapon, mainly in narrow mountain-passages like the Fulda gap between east and west.
