Coolest/Ugliest Weapons V5 - Bullpup AKs are the best
It's one of the main things keeping me off airsoft. I'd be moderately interested in trying it out again (Played some when I was the wee'est of lads), but the way there's no reason to ever use semi auto or reload your gun just makes me sad. I know there's AEGs with simulated recoil and there's 30 round magazines out there (Though they tend to be more expensive than 200 rounders), but that'd be handicapping myself and not anyone else, making it just kind of a shitty idea to do.
Take it to the airsoft forum, we can get into a much more involved discussion there, as I get the feeling you'd really like MILSIM.

True. And there's not really any community for it 'round my parts. OH WELL, G3 marksman variants time!

Lowest on the ladder lies the G3A3ZF, a designation for any old G3A3 with a 4x32 scope on it.

The G3SG1 is more of a specialized design, based on the G3A3 and the same weapon in essence still, but selected off the line from the factory for it's accuracy and then fitted with more appropriate furniture: A bipod and a cheek-riser together with it's scope.

MSG-90 comes next (in how specialized it is. Chronologically, it's after the PSG, being a variation thereof). In contrast to the G3A3ZF and the G3SG1, the MSG-90 is a purpose-built design; it has no iron sights and it's barrel is free-floating and longer than that of the standard G3. It also comes with a match trigger and a highly ajustable stock. The MSG-90 is a variation of the PSG-1, made to be more rugged in design to make it actually useful on the battlefield.

And there we have it, the legendary PSG-1. Freefloated, the stock that set the standard for ajustability, the sexiest grip one can ask for and all around a sleek-ass weapon, generally regarded to be on-par with most bolt-action marksman rifles as far as accuracy goes. Sadly, being this good also means she's a damn bitch and doesn't take any sort of shit before starting to throw a fit, and as such, the rifle is super unsuited for military usage, hence why the MSG exist.

Unless you live in Hawaii, you shouldn't have such a view on airsoft. Most magazines contain 70bbs at most. They're not more expensive than 200 round mags. If you want blowback, get a gas blowback. They're amazingly fun to shoot. The kick's nothing compared to a real gun, but it's certainly enough to blow a slide back with a lot of force.
Anyway, opinions on the PL-01?

I'm feeling more of a rhino vibe. But Seriously. That IS a high profile isn't it? It's not just me right? That autoloader turret is tiny - but the body has sides that seem to go on forever.
Also, as its apparently G3 season. Best G3's are the one that come with danish muffins as accessories.

Doesn't look ahead of it's time as much as it looks as if it tries to look ahead of it's time.
That's not even a FAL, though. That's one of them Brazilian 5.56 rifles built on a FAL receiver or something. Sides, FAL might be stronk, but G3 stronker.

I don't think it's a Brazilian one, those are a bit different

Also when I reverse search that image 11meister posted it shows up as being Indian, which is odd since I never heard of them making 5.56 versions of their FALs, and I have no idea why they bothered with the INSAS if they knew that was possible.

It's essentially a tricked out version of the Daewoo K5/DP51 (South Korea's service pistol), personally I'd say that is a nice looking handgun. I always liked two-tone guns.

It just occured to me. That thing people (men) - have done for centuaries, personifying boats, planes, cars, tanks, imppressivley large televisions and firearms with feminine pronouns. That came about as a means of expressing fondness right? A love for one's treasured inanimate waifu replacement conveyed through nomelculture of the 'fairer sex'.
So does that mean gay men say "he's one sexy beast" when talking about their USP's? Do gay women refer to "bull-dykish" muzzlebreaks on their 5.45 AK's? What about those bi and pansexuals? Do they reflect on their prized AR15 mall sweepers with "She's an absolute wanker when it comes to lube though." - And what about those asexual types? Can you pick them out at a gunshow as the ones who walk around saying. "Goddamn. Take a look at those bulgarian circle 10 mags. They are $15.85 each."
The things one thinks about when they should be asleep.

Also using battle droids to control it, that's a huge waste of space when the processing chip for a battledroid could have been used instead, or a custom designed chip. Whole thing could have been vastly smaller!
Personally I don't get why they bothered making it so the AAT's had to be "manned" to begin with, they were already remote operating all the droids from their control ships, why not just do the same with the tanks?
Admittedly this would give them a major weakness of being completely worthless for anything but cover in the event of their transmissions being jammed, but they have that same issue when "manned" by remote controlled battle droids.
Personally I don't get why they bothered making it so the AAT's had to be "manned" to begin with, they were already remote operating all the droids from their control ships, why not just do the same with the tanks?
If I remember rightly - the 'official' explanation was that the ships were manned by droids because they and the droids were not part of the same aresenal. The trade federeation manufactures both, but many anthromorphic races buy only the tanks. While others may buy only droids to supplement their armies. Hence making the tanks mannable - cut down on the amount of variations that their factories had to be tooled for.
Don't mistake me for someone who has any clue though. I only read those Star Wars visual encylopedia's a lot when I was a kid, because I loved all the cut away diagrams. If I remember rightly, some people feel that Episode 1 was never meant to make any sense in the first place, so that ^ may all just be phooey.

It also doesn't help that a PSG-1 costs more than your average car, clocking in at roughly $20,000. I could buy 4 Barret M99s for that kind of money.

That stock is ugly as hell, i prefer either solid black polymer or nice maple.
While the ATACS pattern usually looks like baby barf, it doesn't on that rifle. Might be because of the more urban colors, iunno.
It looks fine, and you're only complaining about the stock and not the rest of the gun? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I just found this and now I'm gagging.
I think the ergonomics on G3's are bad. The placement of the charging handle is what annoyed me the most, and I've never been a fan of paddle magazine releases, but that is a personal preference.

The G3 charging handle is where it is because you don't operate it like a regular charging handle. On other weapons without bolt-hold-open, the course is remove magazine, insert magazine, rack handle. On a G3, it's pull handle back (Very ergonomic to have it above handguard when it's right where your left hand is anyway), replace the magazine with a new one, then slap the handle down. You have to slap it, if you grab it and ride it forth, or grab it and rack it back-forth after you loaded the magazine, it might not chamber.
[editline]6th April 2014[/editline]
Also, the G3 got both a paddle and a button release.
