And its somewhat uglier (in my eyes) sibling, Sagia export model:

That can't be a 107, more like just something colbbed together to look like one. The front-of-gasport thingamabob on the 107 contains actual mechanism.

On that note, I've never understood why that one M4 stock has a RIS rail on the side.

That does appear to be the real deal. Saiga MK-107, the civilian AK-107.

Could it be that the recoil balancing piston is just above/below the vents?

The reason you don't see the balancing rod:

WZ.83 Pallad D is a cool grenade launcher
Where's the trigger.
Why does it have an AKS stock, I thought those couldn't withstand grenade launches, thats why the Polish used wire stocks.

i love how every grenade launcher is invariably a tube with a breach and trigger
except for the grenade machine-gun i guess

Ever seen the inner workings of a GP-25/30/35? Those don't even have a breach, and the trigger literally pulls the firing pin back, as in, the firing pin has a hook and the trigger a notch for the hook to go in.

i ment like single shot grenade riffles, not underbarreled launchers
The Pallad is an underbarrel
or can be used as one, anyway
Pretty neat how the russians worked out caseless grenade that early.
Well, I suppose it's the exact same as a mortar, really.

But look at the fat rounds it's chambered in.
Never gave it much thought because it's one of those handguns no one really care about, but since I picked up [del]S.T.A.L.K.E.R.[/del] regular day in Ukraine simulator for my millionth time, I've come to realize...

The P99 is a pretty nice looking handgun. It's not in my top three of favorite pistols, sure, but it might like... Have an eighth or ninth place in the top ten.

I remember it getting popular because it was ~James Bond's gun~ in casino royale.

It might have something to do with how that recoil pad is thicker than the barrel's diameter.
Also I believe the wire stocks were done because of recoil issues with barrel mounted rifle grenades, the 40x47mm grenades from the Pallad might be a different affair.

My source is saying that the Poles went to side-folding stocks on the Tantal because they wanted their new standard rifles to be rifle-grenade capable, and in testing they found that the underfolders on normal AKs were snapping from the recoil. Maybe their grenades were that different, maybe it had something to do with the M70's reinforced receivers.

The thing that gets me going about the P99 is how gosh darn comfy it is, though.
If you ever are given the chance to hold one, the shape just feels so right in the hand.

That rear hump and subtle finger grooves make it feel like a pistol molded to your hand.

I picked up an USP Tactical a while back, and felt the exact same. It doesn't even have any 'ergonomic' features, but it just fit my hand so perfectly. It was like the grip was made for me! [sp]Drr... Drrr...[/sp]

It's James Bond's gun in every bond movie after Tommorrow Never Dies, isnt it?

My first airsoft gun I got like 10 years ago was a P99 and I have to agree, it feels amazing, even for a mostly plastic toy. The magazine was metal so it had a bi of weight to it when loaded, but I can only imagine it would feel even better being the real steel.
I had an airsoft one too and it fit my hand perfectly

Up until Casino Royale, where the PPK is used in the beginning of the film but the P99 is used throughout the remainder. In Quantum and Skyfall, it is the PPK and PPK/S
