On the topic of bladed weapons, let me show you a sword that's as good as any other sword (or better depending on if you like one handed bladed weapons or not)

Apparently the vikings back then made special swords with a mysterious technique that got all (or most) of the slag out, which meant the sword was strong enough to break through chainmail

Flamberge, on which it's most likely based. No, the spikes near the base of the blade aren't for stabbing people, they're secondary quillons to protect your hands when you 'shorten' the sword by gripping it by the blade and the pommel and start stabbing.

I kinda hate when people call the so-called 'zweihänder' a zweihänder instead of, I don't know, Germanic greatsword or something. Zweihander literally means two-hander in German, and I promise you, if you took a German two-hander to England and sold it there, you'd call it a German two-hander or a German greatsword, and if you brought a Scottish greatsword to Germany, you'd sell it as a Schottischer Zweihänder. The whole 'use-a-foregin-word-that-basically-describes-the-item' school of naming is dumb to me.

And yes, I did it myself when I spoke of the Gladius above, I know. Force-of-habit for that one, should've called it a Roman short-sword... Or, in the case of the one I posted for which the wide blade-base still haven't been guessed, the Spanish-style Roman shortsword.
