No, a round's spin becomes more unstable as they slow down, so while something might be 1 MOA at 50 yards, at 500 it could tumbling and better measured in degrees than MOA.
Oh yeah. External ballistics are dumb like that, yeah.
No, a round's spin becomes more unstable as they slow down, so while something might be 1 MOA at 50 yards, at 500 it could tumbling and better measured in degrees than MOA.
Which is exactly why long range .308 cartridges switched from 168gr bullets to 175gr bullets, as they are longer but also more stable at 600+ yards.
Me and my friend got into an argument about the Javelin. He claimed it was a disposable launcher and I claimed it was reusable. I know the CLU is reusable and the tube is disposable, but I was arguing that it would still be reusable because you can reload it and fire again. Please tell me I'm right so I can feel good about this.

And it's the tube that carries the rocket, not the optic, so I'd say it's a disposable.

What the heck is it? What does it do?
its called a holman projector, basically a cheap air-compressed mortar that could fire tons of projectiles quickly, only ever downed about a dozen planes the only real use it had was that it would convince attacking aircraft that the ship it was deployed on was more heavily armed than it seems
Normally when you mention a Javelin, you think of the actual tube, not the CLU. The AT-4 and LAW are disposable while the RPG-7 and Carl Gustav are not. If you throw away the unit that does the firing, then its disposable, if you retain it, then it is not. Edit: Why is this dumb oakman, do you have a better explanation?
Consider the missile tube to be a bullet and shell casing, whereas the CLU is the gun. Yes, both the tube and missile are disposed after use, but the CLU isn't and is entirely responsible for the firing of the missile. Therefore, the Javelin missile is disposable, but the Javelin Missile System is reusable.
Not Really a weapon in itself but i just applied to sail with this beast this summer! The ship is called Draken Harald Hårfagre and is the largest longship right now.

All those rails lined up so neat look like a highway
Hey guys, I'm asking a big question here. What weapon in your mind says "FUCK YOU" in the best way?
A blunderbuss full of those letter fridge magnets that spell out fuck you.
FAL Plenty of "FUCK YOU", but for most situations more practical than an anti-tank rifle.
All those rails lined up so neat look like a highway
more like a railway ha
Hey guys, I'm asking a big question here. What weapon in your mind says "FUCK YOU" in the best way?
Phalanx CIWS/C-RAM Epitome of "FUCK YOU", this bitch will make anything pretty much cease to be
Uh, this is actually maximum FUCK YOU:
Pretty sure this is this is the biggest FUCK YOU
Pretty sure this is this is the biggest FUCK YOU
I'd argue the firebombing of Tokyo and Dresden would be a bigger fuck you
I'd argue the firebombing of Tokyo and Dresden would be a bigger fuck you
That was more of a long stream of "fuck you"s, the atomic bombs were two really big ones.
They have the semi auto setting (gas system) turned off to save the brass because its not made anymore and they hand reload it.
Are you sure? It looks like it ejected a shell casing when he fired the first shot, and the recoil springs are clearly still functional since the bolt release worked. Either way, I just thought the crank mechanism was how the charging handle on that thing worked.

Hell, when the leader of the home-forces wrote a letter saying they were low on weapons, high command ordered a factory to start producing eight-foot long sticks with bayonet lugs to use as pikes.

PIAT was an actual okay weapon, though. The British home guard had some actual shit compared to that. [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/04/H_11843-Members_of_Home_Guard_using_a_Northover_Projector-July_1941.jpg[/t] Northover Projector, the world's only anti-tank musket. It had a tendency to explode on the crew. Why? It fired glass projectiles. Wrap your head around that one... And then, of course, my favourite towed artillery piece of all time... The Smith gun. It's a bunker on wheels. You drag it on it's side, either by hand or behind a vehicle via a hook mounted on the end of the barrel, and then when you spot a Jerry... ...Flip 'er on the side and start shooting! 3" barrel, claimed 600 yard range, actual 100 yard range. And it was more likely than not going to explode, killing the crew. Like is the norm for WWII home guard weapons. And, just to cap this off, a picture of pike-equipped Home Guardsmen. And I claimed 8' pikes, turns out they're more like 5', making them shortspears instead. But they were a serious answer to a complaint about lack of weapons.
And on the opposite side of the empire, New Zealand was able to actually come up with something pretty sweet to slake its desperate need for homeguard weapons The Charlton rifle, a full-auto conversion of their old bolt action rifles meant to supplement Bren LMGs.
