Truth be told, I kinda hate the look of those things, I always thought jungle style was a much cooler looking method of dual magazinery. They don't bulge out the sides until some distance down, and it looks much cooler to flip them around when reloading.
Cool until you go prone and fill the feed lips with dirt...
Do it the HK/SIG way:

I know the jungle style isn't really as practical, I just prefer the look of it.

I've always been a fan of the V-style, where you tape them together with a divider so they go in a V-shape, bases touching but feed-ends spread out slightly so they fit in the magwell without issue.

Like so. Brown being a small stick or pencil or whatever you want. Bottom half wrapped tight in tape, top free.
Two mags clipped together would be more compact and portable than a starfish

The point of the pentagon coupler is it's the closest you can get to a decent sized mag in California.
They also make a two magazine clip that's pretty similar to jungle style

You cannot justify keeping a starfish out of water and forcing it to dry out. I don't care about the laws in California, that is animal cruelty.

Wasn't there a 4chan post about this where someone suggested putting a gun on each magazine?

I would pay money to see someone use this.

Less dumb than what Red Jacket came up with.

Three saigas bolted together with the barrels poorly aligned and mags sticking out; driven by the motor from a powerdrill.

That might have been dumb but I bet it was a blast to shoot. They should have put 20 round drums on it.
is there a video of that thing firing?

there is

Why the fuck does it even need to spin
Why the fuck does it even need to spin
Because it's never been done before (For a good reason)
Why the fuck does it even need to spin
They were "contracted" to make a gatling shotgun, so they "built" a "real" one from scratch, but it "malfunctioned" and exploded, and they were "close" to their "deadline", so the old dude just welded three saigas together and called it a day, ignoring entirely what makes a gatling a gatling.
Also it's all so horribly scripted and none of the actors even know how to act.
That might have been dumb but I bet it was a blast to shoot. They should have put 20 round drums on it.
with the spin on that, i bet that if you tried with drums they would jam up or rip the whole thing apart. especially when the drums are not alligned or equal in weight, thats kinda why miniguns don't rotate their fucking ammunition
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
centripetal force is a bitch on feeding mechanisms because they aren't designed to have to cope with it, if a gun is spinning enough to generate say .5g of force, that means half the weight of the ammunition in the feed system is exerting force down onto the spring as well as the extra force added by gravity when its vertical
I thought the internally suppressed AK they made was cool, yea they threw rails all over it and gross HK style sights, but at least it required actual gunsmithing.
so idiotic, the whole point (afaik) of a gattling is that you give each individual barrel & chamber time to cool down whilst only using one ammunition supply.. that thing is literally useless
Anybody have any favorite oldschool AR15 variants?
I like the 656, even if the ironsights don't work. Aparrently it had a flip up rear sight, but i've never found any pictures of it:
[t]http://pic.junpinzhi.cn/2013/05/model656.jpg[/t]
And the 605, which is the first attempt anybody made to make a carbine version of the M16, which just involved cutting down the barrel.

And the 607 is pretty rad too. It was another early attempt at a carbine and is just like a baby M16.

You pretty much just posted all of my favorite oldschool ARs.
except your 656 image is broken, so here have a working one

This thing was essentially the predecessor to the "flat top" receivers, as in front of the ironsight it had a weaver rail.

The rear sight was probably about the same as the A1, with the front sight being fully hooded.
Here's some AR guns for you. But more like... ARRR

Geddit? Pirates and ARRR? Geddit?
The link worked fine for me, strange.
And the rear sight is too low, though. It doesn't line up.
[t]http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n171/Der_Hans/656.jpg[/t]
I always figured the sight was folded down, meant to be flipped up when the scope is removed.
Also, the 605 was interesting because in addition to being a simplistic carbine, it also had a variant called the 605B which had a 4 position fire selector that had semiautomatic, full-auto, and burst. These also had their forward assists removed.
And here, have a DOE

The DOE is awesome. I have an unfinished replica of one of those front ends around somewhere that my brother and i were making for an airsoft gun.
I always liked the 9mm ARs.

Pretty sure the sight is flip up.
As far as i know, there's no pictures of what the rear sight actually looks like so i've never known for sure.
I don't doubt that it is a flip up sight, but i've just never seen a picture of it to confirm.

I dig this rifle. It's a semi auto Polish thingy called the Wz. 38.

can anyone tell me why someone would think this is a great idea? i mean if you have to have a big pistol why wouldn't you use something that...idk wouldn't break your wrist?
[editline]29th June 2014[/editline]
there's surely got to be a better pistol that shoots 5.56 besides a baby ar-15 that has to be strapped to your wrist
