the MOE looks much more reasonable because it isn't riddled with sci fi cuts and holes

Some pictures of the new Russian T-99 Armata tank.
It apparently has a 125mm smoothbore main gun (though people on /k/ are saying it's going to be 152mm...). There is some debate on what the secondary weapon is though; some are saying a single or pair of 30mm computer controlled auto-canons for AA use or a single computer controlled 57mm belt-fed grenade launcher.
It also has a crew of only two people and a crew-less turret with the gun fed by an auto-loader.
It as active countermeasures to defeat ATGM and RPGs too.

I always like the MTR-8 Rifle.

It definitely looks much better than the pistol, which is just plain odd.
I'm still in love with the GAU-8 Avenger. And its sound.
So since good ol' 'Murrica is celebrating its decleration independence, we can all listen to the sweet sound of freedom from the safety of our homes.

Making a "Steampunk gun" by bolting copper to a Ruger is like building a "Mechanical calculator" by taping your phone to a V8

Looks like what would be a Thompson variant of the Wolfenstein future STG-44
Unless there actually in a Thompson in that game, I've never played it

not sure why the british never got around to adding steam kettles to gattling guns, the thing is epic even if its a bit crappy looking
well we stuck tea making facilities in all our tanks, that's as close as you're gonna get
There's this guy annoying me saying that the katana is best weapon and that anything I say against it is wrong and terrible and that I'm an idiot. I'm laughing about it, sure, but he's serious. I've showed him a few videos, talked about the shape of the structure of the sword, what it's made of, etc. and he's just ignoring me.
It is starting to annoy me now.

That thing bugs me so much.
If the first and only level that thing appears in takes place in the late 1940s, why not just model a goddamn thompson?
If the allies are supposed to be losing the war at that point, then why are they making hideously over-engineered and overcomplicated thompson lookalikes and not just simplified last-ditch guns like the Japanese and Germans were doing at the end of the real war?
I know it's because video games and it's a game about space nazis so it isn't the most realistic game ever made, but that shit still irritates me. If you're making a story about one side getting the shit kicked out of them and losing, actually make it look like they're losing and scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to equipment.

Just throw Cold Steel demo videos at him, there is no way he won't like other swords after that :V

really depends what kind of armor your opponent has and what weapon he has, the katana generally was developed by the ruling class to take out the unarmored peasants who had no access to metal armor
mainly meant for intimidation and oppression. european arms were going up against armored opponents, most european soldiers had some kind of armor and shield, so european swords were more can openers than the japanese katana
the techniques they put into making it were advanced but only because they didn't have access to good iron like the rest of the world, japan sword smiths had very poor quality iron sands and iron chips to get into the right shape while the rest of the world got access to ore and casting techniques to purify the ore

we were reverse engineering german tech as fast as it appeared on the battle field but we couldn't keep up. the bombers and cargo planes used to take out deathshead for example were all prototype long distance bomber/cargo planes probably launched from the U.S. or far side of britain
at least thats the understanding i have from the flavor text, i wish you would find that more in the game but you don't

The techniques for making them are just an excessive form of pattern welding, and it's not exclusive to just katanas and ancient Japanese smiths, pattern welding is one of the oldest methods of smithing, it was done to compensate for the inconsistent quality of the iron produced by bloomeries, it's one of the oldest methods of iron working and is present in pretty much every iron age culture you can name
It fell out of favor as better bloomeries were developed and eventually replaced by blast furnaces capable of producing purer and more consistent iron

I think the wood needs to be much darker to work with that gun. It's too light, the visual balance is way off.
