but dumb
If you fired that, the backblast would tear out the magazine.
It'd also kill you.

Possibly minorly burnt and certainly knocked flat on your ass without hearing and with bruises all over your chest and abdomen, but yeah, probably alive.

I was actually joking :v: Don't know exactly how powerfull the backblast is/would be.
But hey, good to know in case I want to fire off a RPG from a underslung grenade launcher.

The RPG-7 is part recoilless rifle, part rocket launcher. The launch itself is a hard-launch through a large explosive charge wrapped around the base of the rocket, giving a heavy blast to propel the rocket at high speed from the launcher, while fins deploy and rocket-engines (which are right behind the warhead, not at the end of the projectile like most illustrations and video games show) ignite and propel the grenade in the general direction of where you aimed it. If your rocket isn't faulty. And you're lucky. And have no crosswind. And remember to bless the rocket upon launch. And the target doesn't move.
I want to see that fire more than anything
The rockets themselves usually aren't at fault, its the idiots firing them who forget to remove the pin to arm it that keeps it from working. Also, the RPG is difficult to hit targets at range with because due to the folding fins, it actually turns into the wind instead of away from it.
They also move much much faster than you see in movies/videogames.
This is what happens when you stand behind an RPG:

I'm not gonna lie, on its own it seems pretty interesting and neat. But mounted as an underbarrel attachment? Why? What's the point? That's like taping a bb gun to a far more superior firearm.
maybe its some sort of tracer round/ marker round?
i know the dutch manufacture a rocket launcher with a .22LR pistol sighted down its length so they can shoot their target before shooting their target

Just wondering, if you seriously did fire an RPG-7 projectile like that underbarrel, couldn't the backblast potentially detonate the rounds in your magazine?
And since we're on page 289, have a K3
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f0/Daewoo_K3_machine_gun_1.jpg[/t]
Because if you fiddle with the focus, cover some things up, and adjust the amount of maple syrup, you can more or less make it look like a 249.

Okay, that sounds pretty practical.

Thank you for your informed opinion. That weapon is a Nader/Fath grenade launcher, an Iranian weapon, and there is a video of it being fired here. Note the lack of backblast or operator death, because it's not an RPG-7, which is pretty obvious just looking at the shape of the projectile.

'nowadays'
Yet you post the original M249/FN Minimi, which are getting on to be 20 or 30 years old by now. The more modern M249s and Minimis look like this:
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fb/Improved_M249_Machine_Gun.jpg[/t]
[t]http://www.armedforces-int.com/upload/image_files/FN-MINIMI-Mk3-Machine-Gun-Lightbox.jpg[/t]
That being said, i still adore the original M249.

The simple handguards and stock just look so much nicer and streamlined than the RIS and sliding stocks on the newer ones.

The editing in those videos is so obnoxious, it ruins it for me.
Also, while on the topic of SAWs, the reason I mentioned the K3 is because it has a bit of a history of being used as a stand-in for the 249.
