And yea, rails hardly make something modern, it just gives the firearm the ability to mount attachments. You can't modernize something with just an attachment, you have to upgrade the internal parts, anything else is just an attachment. I just don't understand all the dumbs I was rated, is that not what the mag is for on a kimber, and rails don't modernize, plain and simple.

However, I agree there are plenty of better alternatives out there, while the 1911 was revolutionary for its time, and aged extremely well, there's no practical use in keeping it around if we have better and more practical alternative, and slapping picatinny rails on the thing just won't cut it.

But for home defense, CC, and military, it's very silly to use such an outdated design. I'd like to buy a 1911 one day for use at the range, but I would never CC it or use it for home D.

From what I can glean it's a 7.62x54mm bolt-action rifle, based off an earlier single-shot rifle. Also it looks to be partly disassembled in that picture.
