Other than it not really making sense, it's a cool gun.

Every metro gun is awesome.
That would be pretty cool. Is the manual in english?
Sadly it's in Dutch but there's a lot of quality pictures in there, could translate some things for shits n giggles.
I'll have to do it tomorow, got some shit to take care off today.
the new metro guns are pretty cool

the valve kicks ass
i think i'm gonna get an FNP chambered in 357 sig. that gun looks fun
[editline]17th May 2013[/editline]
just looking at this gun and everything about it...
it just seems like the perfect first pistol.

It's neat, but considering it's modelled in a way that makes it impossible for it to eject and it's got a fucking ridiculous length of pull..

Valve is cool as fuck, put on the compensator and extended magazine and it's easily the best gun in the game
what y'all think
Ugh, putting stickers on a gun is like putting bumper stickers on a car.

aside from the polymer frame and being manufactured in south America, I've heard good things about it.

polymer is good go die
3D printed layered metal oxides are probably going to kill polymer anyway
GE and Boeing are finding it works great for making jet tourbine blades, can't imagine making a gun using sintered metal oxides wouldn't be too much of a creative leap
[editline]17th May 2013[/editline]
note im not talking about the crappy plastic liberator pistol, im talking about making metal guns using 3D printers
[editline]17th May 2013[/editline]
also nasa is using the same technology to print rocket exaust parts, so its not going to melt under temperature

Yes, yes they are

so to be quite honest i don't see the problem.
does the fnp have an external hammer?
so to be quite honest i don't see the problem.

Yes, FNP's are hammer fired pistols. If you want a hammer fired pistol you're really better off getting a P226 in .357 SIG. After all Sig Sauer designed the .357 sig round, and P226's have aluminum frames. Even the Navy Seals use P226's.
Polymer for frames is bad and you should feel bad
yes, polymer frames are garbage.
-lighter
-safer in case of an catastrophic failure, it splits rather than peppering and/or slicing your hands, arms, face and eyes with steel/aluminium shards
-takes more stress, flexes rather than bending/warping
-cheaper
-no rust, no pitting, no constant oiling
yep, they're fucking awful. why would anyone want polymer frames??
does the fnp have an external hammer?
But seriously, there's no beating a metal frame.

Cause that makes all the difference in a pistol. A P226, with a aluminum frame, weighs a WHOPPING 34 ounces. An FNP weighs a feather weight 24 ounces. What an outstanding advantage.
-safer in case of an catastrophic failure, it splits rather than peppering and/or slicing your hands, arms, face and eyes with steel/aluminium shards
Not quite sure 9mm really has the explosive power to make your handgun turn into a grenade, especially since the explosions going to completely held within the metal slide, not the frame.
-takes more stress, flexes rather than bending/warping
OK sure but I'm not sure how often people are going to be driving over their pistols with a semi or accidentally leaving them under a hydrolic press.
-cheaper
You get what you pay for when it comes to guns. For $500 bucks you get a South American made FNP, for 300 more you get an American/German made P226.
-no rust, no pitting, no constant oiling
Unless you live next to the ocean, constantly drop your pistol into salt water, or are shooting only corrosive ammo without doing proper cleaning, you don't really have to worry about rusting and pitting. If you oil your pistol at least once a year or so you're really in good shape. But you really should clean and oil your weapons after every shoot so they're properly maintained. Applying oil to the frame as well as the slide isn't a big deal.
"Polymer frames are bad and you should feel bad" was a joke, get over yourself. I prefer actual metal to plastic out of preference.

Are you going to try and tell me P226's are bad and that the Navy Seals are a bad special forces group? I dare you to try and tell me a P226 is bad, I double dog dare you
M14? Bad decision.
Early M16s? Bad decision.
MP5? Bad decision.
M60? Bad decision.
M249? Bad decision.
Constant use of the same outdated AR platform, 1911s and M9s? Bad decision.
Modern M16's, DMR M14's, and M60's aren't bad. The only reason the originals were bad is because they were rushed when the US was fighting a war it clearly wasn't equipped for. I'm not sure why you're against the MP5 and 249.
Cause that makes all the difference in a pistol. A P226, with a aluminum frame, weighs a WHOPPING 34 ounces. An FNP weighs a feather weight 24 ounces. What an outstanding advantage.
Hurr. Did I say it makes all the difference? No, I didn't, but some people do actually carry a handgun for hours or days at end.
Not quite sure 9mm really has the explosive power to make your handgun turn into a grenade, especially since the explosions going to completely held within the metal slide, not the frame.
"What does OOB mean???"
OK sure but I'm not sure how often people are going to be driving over their pistols with a semi or accidentally leaving them under a hydrolic press.
Yes, you need a semi or a 16 ton press to bend metal. Yes. Sure.
You get what you pay for when it comes to guns. For $500 bucks you get a South American made FNP, for 300 more you get an American/German made P226.
An American made Sig is just as bad as an Brazilian made Taurus. If you get a German Sig it's a completely other gun than an American one.
Do you seriously imply that a $500 Glock is shit just because of its price tag?

What is CC? What is having to carry the gun for longer durations of time without getting to clean it? What is this concept of forgetting?

American made P226s are garbage compared to actual German/Swiss ones. Deal with it, american manufacture is piss bad since you guys have absolutely none competition when your horrible gun manufacturers lobby fucking everything. I mean, why buy a quality Cz or S&L firearm when you can get a Marlin or Ruger??
Navy Seals is possibly one of the most glorified SF groups out there. The fact that Post-Soviet countries still use Makarovs for their SFGs does not mean it's the best handgun in existence.

What every day situation would you put yourself in where you might bend the frame of your pistol?

Most of the parts for Sig pistols are imported from Germany I think, they're just assembled in the US with 922r compliances.

Remember that part where I said if you oil it after every shoot or once a year? Yeah me too. Not sure why you'd be CC'ing for a year while walking on a beach, completely unable to oil your pistol. What a weird situation that would be!
No, you get over yourself. You still believe you're always right, don't you?
~Radical Opinions~. Don't take everything I say seriously or you might end up tooter ticked.

I haven't heard any particular bad things regarding American made P226's, if you could point me to some cases I'd love to educate myself. My ~horribly American Made~ SG556 is the most fantastic rifle I have ever owned. I've put surplus ammo and garbage-grade tulammo through it without any issues. Polymer mags or steel mags, not a single jam on her part. Only issue I've had with the rifle is some of the finish has worn away from where casings were ejected. Only issues I've heard about SG556's is in the 556R's, early models had issues with certain AK mags and wouldn't feed properly.

Glorified or not you can't really deny that they do good work and know what the fuck they're doing. Now if you're a yurobro who just wants to hate on America, are you going to try and tell me the SAS has no fucking clue what they're doing, using metal framed pistols like the P226 and the stupidly useless Browning Hi Power?
