Fallout 3 & NV plasma pistol for best plasma pistol (next to the plasma defender, of course) [t]http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110208224445/fallout/images/5/57/PlasmaPistol.png[/t]
Nah [t]http://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/fallout.gamepedia.com/8/8c/Survivalist%27s_rifle.png[/t]
dust cover the charging handle goes out farther than the chamber/frame ???
Who cares. It fires 12.7 mm rounds. The most powerful pistol rounds in the game. I'm kewl with that.

I'm calling for the acknowledgement that the Plasma pistol, cowboy repeater, and lever-action rifle are possibly the best weapons to start out with during the early levels of New Vegas. The lever-action especially, it just hits so hard and is pretty accurate. The cowboy repeater is even more accurate.
Nah [t]http://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/fallout.gamepedia.com/8/8c/Survivalist%27s_rifle.png[/t]
That isn't an energy weapon, dude. [editline]31st July 2014[/editline]
FO3/NV weapons all look like they're designed by 11 year olds on deviantart..
Your hard-on for realism invalidates your opinion on weapons in a video game that's meant to have a retro 50s sci-fi aesthetic to it. Again, it's a video game, it's not going to be as accurate to reality as, say, a milsim. On the topic of ugly guns, I think the sturdy caravan shotgun is pretty ugly [t]http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110207233227/fallout/images/a/a4/SturdyCaravanShotgun.png[/t] along with the fuck-ugly sawed-off shotgun from FO3 and NV [t]http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110208012624/fallout/images/8/89/Sawed_off.png[/t] Just look at it, it looks hideous. The concept art for it was sooo much better: [t]http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120220174949/fallout/images/2/26/SShotgunCA1.jpg[/t] it had so much more of a battered, wasteland, Mad Max design going for it
My guess would be they had to give it a pistol grip to fit with the animations for pistols because the animators were too lazy to make a new animation for the weapon.
This makes sense, considering it's a game directed by the same guy who said making spears/polearms for Skyrim would be too difficult. Not long after, a modder made polearms available in Skyrim and they were accompanied by some pretty good animations as well.
But the animations for the caravan shotgun already exists.
The sawed-off existed before the Caravan shotgun.
its basically a beowulf then
It pretty much is. The branding on the textures indicates it was a border checkpoint guard's carbine issued to American forces in occupied Canada. Aiming it was a bit of a pain though, the rear aperture was missing and the gas block was so crooked that you used the front sight ears as the front post.

Has it been posted before..? [editline]1st August 2014[/editline] Not that I completely ignored rest of the shotgun post, oh no.
I think it's been posted, yes; that or I know it from gunrunnerhell.
Can someone please explain why are AK fire selectors made in a safe-auto-semi configuration? Wouldn't a soldier under stress end up pushing the lever down too much and getting a single round instead of automatic fire?
Kinda the point, it's so people don't just jam it down and run through all their ammo at once in a fire fight.
[t]http://www.rockislandauction.com/photos/52/p_standard/KWM153-T-F2-L.jpg[/t] damn
The scope kinda kills the looks.
Looks pretty standard, but wait for the reload (it's about 23 seconds in if you seriously have the attention span of a sea squirrel).
Got one of these on order, but without the manual safety.

Got around buying that Junglas 'knife' today. Kinda surprised I didn't even need to show my weapon permit. :v: Oh man that thing is heavy. It chops through tree like a dream.

I don't think I've ever heard about them, or now that I think about it much of anything about Estonia. Also, did some looking on that "Little Tom" pistol, apparently it was designed so that you could eject empty magazines out the top while loading a fresh one in the bottom. Not sure if that'd go much faster than normal reloads on a modern pistol, but considering it uses an old style heel release it probably was a bit faster/easier.
