What is the purpose of dimples on weapons? Does it have any significant effects on the weight of the weapon?

I really don't know how to feel about that BAR

Both the BAR and HCAR (tacticooled BAR) are made brand new by Ohio Ordnance; they claim 1 moa out to 800yds with the HCAR benched and with a scope. It honestly feels awesome, I wasn't sure what I felt about it either until I talked with them at SHOT Show and fondled it; they said that's a pretty typical reaction from people.

I'm not the biggest fan of enfields, so i don't think it's that disgusting to see one butchered like that. I feel like that thing would look pretty cool with a magazine and maybe a slightly different stock. I think they do deserve points for actually making a custom stock and not just shoving an ordinary AR15 sliding stock on there.
