The Chinese did build some of those pistols in .45 auto, called it the Type-17. They're not an easy find now, but it proved the design could be upscaled to it. Also, for a stock, do you mean you want one mounted on the pistol grip like on the originals, one mounted above the pistol grip like on weapons actually designed to have a pistol grip and stock, or just a rifle grip?
One that could be attached to the grip would make more sense.
This is page Pi. Pi is related to circles, which are round. Melons are round. You can chop melons with blades. So have Terry Pratchett's sword (which he made himself out of iron and motherfucking meteorite): Badass motherfucker. Guy got knighted by the motherfucking ass-kicking true old one herself Missus Elizabeth the Queen god bless 'er. Also has a garden full of carniverous plants and is kicking alzheimers in the ass. Also have a video about the second sexiest shotgun:
(#1 is still M1 Garand)
One that could be attached to the grip would make more sense.
Okay I'm working on a model of one now. Used the RO2 Broomhandle as a base, already set up a reasonable approximation of the grip, found a good set of sights, and made the stock out of one from a certain machine pistol, what's hanging me up is that barrel jacket, I can't really find anything that looks like it and I'm useless working from scratch, anyone have any suggestions for parts that might look close enough for me to tweak them to fit? And here, have a reproduction of the Wz.38M since we're in the first week of the 75 year anniversary of the German invasion of Poland. This was going to be Poland's semi-automatic rifle of the war, it was a gas operated rifle firing 8mm Mauser from a 10 round magazine. Only about 150 of these rifles were originally built, it's believed that no more than 10 of them survive to this day, and there's little to no documentation of them actually being used.

Really it's kind of odd that the Wz.38M didn't see more production or usage, Germany had a habit of using weapons from occupied territories and opposing countries, even continuing local production of them in the former case, and considering that this particular rifle was available three years before Germany would even begin its foray into automatic infantry rifles (and even longer before they got it right), with the added bonus of being compatible with standard ammunition, it would've made a lot of sense to press them into service. Although perhaps move production to Germany considering how devoted and organized the Polish guerrillas were.

That's why the first semi-autos out of Germany had some silly-ass designs with a Vickers-style gas trap at the muzzle and shit like that.
Repost, but I thought its appropriate here Have a camo of all around the world [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/lWai808.jpg[/img_thumb]
Denmark's switch from M/84 (Danetran is besttran) to mulletcam makes me sad.

The Australian Army just adopted a multicam clone in DPCU colours. [t]http://i.imgur.com/4HbAn6v.jpg[/t] [editline]7th September 2014[/editline] Mary's tits, that's bigger than I thought.

Don't/partially bore the gas port and put the gas block on before anyone notices. As long as that particular gun doesn't get test fired, nobody will know that their 'automatic rifle' is actually straight pull bolt-action until they're on the front. This is also why it's generally advisable to have your guns be built by people who don't want you dead. Germany was also fond of recoil and blowback actions, they were used in machine guns and some last ditch designs for cost reasons. Memory serving a roller delayed Gerat-06H cost about half what a gas operated StG-44 did.

If any of you are interested in learning how a Sten works... :v: The DIY Sten Gun - PDF
The Sten's really not a difficult action to figure out. Fixed firing pin, open bolt only, trigger is a bolt-catch, cocking handle is a knob stuck into the bolt, bolt is held in the closed position entirely by spring tension and inertia. From a mechanical standpoint it's about as simplistic as a multi-shot firearm can get.
True, but learning the whole DIY process for how to build these things is pretty interesting/fun. [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ef/Cordite_Filled_Cartridge.JPG/1920px-Cordite_Filled_Cartridge.JPG[/t] It's considerably a step above manufacturing basic gun powder, but it's practical enough to manufacture in such a way where shipping it wouldn't exactly be a piss off.

Can someone link that tumblr page with the improvised guns? I love looking at stuff like that. Nvm, found it. It wasn't tumblr. If anyone wants to look again http://homemadeguns.wordpress.com/
Make gun cotton > mix with acetone to make a gel > extrude > dry Lengthy but not exceptionally difficult.
sept the whole "make gun cotton" part which is rather dangerous [editline]7th September 2014[/editline] by rather dangerous, a quick google search pulls up 5 entrys that all say "with equal parts of the strongest nitric and sulfuric acid you can find" Handling strong acid is dangerous and a lot can go wrong very quickly, especially when mixing acids, and none of these guides actually have any tips on how to safely mix them

Let's just, for shits and giggles, play a game of word-association. Just post something that has some connection, no matter how big or how small, to what previous poster threw up here. [editline]8th September 2014[/editline] (Of course, explain the connection real quick, too)
So I saw this Jesus, they made a fish. How ugly.
