Riller, 3d printers are the future, not DIY soda can projects.

Back in my day, you could make anything with a soda can, a pair of scissors and a roll of yarn. Suppressor, sights, bipod, alarm, walkie-talkie, refreshing drink, cat toy, wooly sweater. Let's see you 3D print a jumper, eh?

Someone should arm it with explosives, and fly it at ISIS.

Considering how widely used 3D printers are becoming, I wouldn't be surprised if within the next 10 years there are a few factories somewhere printing out clothing and other apparel.
Some German night fighters..

Note the use of Radar equipment for hunting Allied bombers in pitch black.
I used to have a book about the Luftwaffe doing these sort of operations, if I find it I'll post some reports and stories..
Really? They had aircraft radar then?

That, and some primitive beam-based navigation system that the Brits hacked into to hilarious effects, lemme see if I can look up the stories.
[editline]14th September 2014[/editline]
Can't quite seem to find it. It was some sorta radio-based system or something of the sort, that the Brits quickly figured out how to tap into, and at night, tricking German planes to land on British airfields to be captured or some shit like that.
The original parts are already pretty sensitive. Any 3d printed parts could be made of something more durable. Also, if you're able to easily print out replacement parts, there shouldn't be much to worry about when it comes to testing any more replacement parts. Especially of how durable they'll be depending on what they're composed of.
depends, metal sintered 3D printers are probably the "next best thing" but right now they're rather big and expensive and require tons of power, but they would be the ones that truly allow for replacement of metal parts

just thinking about the costs, the germans probably sent hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of bombers, fuel, bombs and crew to only be defeated by about 30$ worth of radio parts and an x-ray machine

Well, you know what they say about WWII. Won on American money, British intelligence and Russian blood.

SLS printers are on the way to home use. We've already got SLA printers for reasonably cheap(<$2000), SLS is the next logical step.

Metal SLS is not really a good system for home use because it can be pretty dangerous (metal powders being flammable and an inhalation hazard, and also the use of large amounts of asphyxiation gas for the build area)
we use them at work and they are nowhere near at the level they need to be for home use

I like the Stevens Model 320.
I've never really been a fan of pistol grips on shotguns, but that's just me

Far and away the Stakeout on the bottom.
Far and away the Stakeout on the bottom.
pretty sure thats an M500 not a stakeout
pretty sure thats an M500 not a stakeout
Technically that particular variant is called a Cruiser. Stakeout is the term for an I37 in a similar configuration.

And I'm not sure if there's a term for R870s in that setup but there should be

Because you don't usually see them with both the short barrel and the pistol grip, usually just one or the other.

Although the chopped rifle grips have their own charm.
