Well, you could potentially have a scaled up version of the Boberg action that would allow it to feed and eject from behind the mag. Actually could work better than the pistol due to the nature of shotshells.

The FSB uses whatever the fuck it wants if it helps them do the job better. Now luckily Zenit makes actually excellent AK rail systems and other tactical add ons, but every now and then you see one of these.
At the very least, every thing on his AK seems very purposeful, especially the cut out on the safety for the charging handle and the improved rear sight location resulting from the new dust cover.

That's a Krebs enhanced safety, a TWS Dog Leg Gen II topcover and magpul BUIS; the charging handle mod it the Tromix bolt on type, but nothing says you can weld a Galil charging handle on instead.
