what the flying fuck... also wouldn't that be more of an example of WW1 style tank [editline]24th October 2014[/editline] oh russian... gotcha [editline]24th October 2014[/editline]
I'm pretty sure the Bob Semple tank was made in New Zealand.
In one memorable episode, the tanks entered a village occupied by German troops and while under fire were able to tow away 24 German guns
"this cannon i like, i take with me" oh i was going off the link above my first post [t]http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g363/blong217/tank-ni-1-odessa-20100207-154200_zpsbad018f5.jpg[/t] still to the same effect [editline]24th October 2014[/editline] on that note the aussie's came up with an interesting little footnote of a tank [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1f/Sentinel_%28AWM_101156%29.jpg[/t] first tank to have a cast hull verses the standard riveted and welded steel plate boxes seen in the early years of the war
The hull was cast as a single piece, as was the turret; a technique not used on the hull of any other tanks of the era
sort of resembled a tank, but it had the same limitations imposed by tank designers of that era, like an anemic 1lb gun, 30 mph top speed, but by the time they got to producing them we already were churning out shermans

the glossiness makes it look like a 3d render to me
How about some Dutch ships ? De Zeven provinciën-class frigate [img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bb/HNLMS_De_Zeven_Provinci%C3%ABn_(F_802).jpg[/img_thumb]
weird, i was actually able to see one of these in key west FL, it was F805 "Evertsen" when i was out fishing, and i thought "what the hell are the dutch doing in florida?" for a minute, i had thought it was a La Fayette class, i got confused with the flags for a second, and im not that good at ID'ng ships.
Super shorties look really nice without a pistol grip
the glossiness makes it look like a 3d render to me
It's glossy because it's airsoft. That picture is straight from the airsoft subforum right here on FP.

The Canadian RAM tank was basically just a disappointing Sherman. [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/38/Ram_tanks_e010778900-v8.jpg[/t] Based on the M3 Lee/Grant, but with a proper turret. Never saw action outside training.
[t]http://www.forgottenweapons.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/brit-308-prototype-1.jpg[/t] This is a .308 Sterling prototype. Took FN-FAL mags. [editline]25th October 2014[/editline] [t]http://www.forgottenweapons.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/1_ZfG_complete.jpg[/t] And this is a blank-firing machine gun from the Germans before WW2. It was used for training and to give soldiers a "sense of combat". It fired hollowed wooden bullets that would get chewed up and burned by the powder and slammed down a rickety barrel to ensure safety.
This thing looks so cool.
I love that this is a thing, instead of just a MG34 with a belt of blanks.
Basically, pull the pin = pull the trigger [t]http://www.forgottenweapons.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/3_ZfG_all_parts.jpg[/t] It was crude, but did its job.

Why make a device for that, instead of an MG34 with blanks which'd do literally the exact same thing? I mean, maybe to simulate emplacements to be triggered from afar so you could return fire towards them?

I thought that prototype took Bren lmg magazines? It might have been before the FAL even existed.
what the flying fuck... here's the best part about the russian "tank" from up the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NI_Tank "you get tank with gun, you get tank with cannon, and you...you get tank with broom handles, ok everybody move out!

When the army fighting on the outskirts of Odessa (the city defences held out for seventy-two days before the army pulled back) started experiencing shortages in tanks, the workers from the factory decided to build a fighting vehicle of their own design. Aided by the workers from other factories, January Uprising workers built a big metal box and put it on the tractor. Also added was a traversable turret with either a mountain gun or a large-calibre machine gun. The armour was a sandwich of thin naval steel or boiler plate and wood or rubber sheeting to improve protection against small arms. The resulting machine was unlike any other fighting vehicle of the time and made an awfully loud noise when it moved.
Don't forget the best part.
The first NI left the factory on August 20, 1941. Another two machines were built before it saw its first combat on September 1 in a local engagement on the outskirts of the city. When German troops saw an armoured formation including the unusual looking machines noisily making their way toward them, they retreated back to their starting positions. It was then decided to pull the tanks back to keep their nature secret. Even though the tanks' speed was a very slow 7 km/h (4.3 mph), their armour was able to withstand small arms fire. In the second half of September, a battalion was formed equipped with NI tanks. In one memorable episode, the tanks entered a village occupied by German troops and while under fire were able to tow away 24 German guns.
I really would like to know how they managed to tow away TWENTY FOUR guns without getting knocked out or stopped. Did the Germans not have any panzerfausts or grenades?
Are you sure? I thought that prototype took Bren lmg magazines? It might have been before the FAL even existed.
That's definitely a FAL mag though.
That's definitely a FAL mag though.
It is, and one of the original 30rd'ers as well; all the 30rd'ers made new by DSA are straight. Did the Germans not have any panzerfausts or grenades?
i'd imagine not since they weren't probably intending to fight any russian tanks, the panzerfaust itself was a reactionary weapon developed after they started to be on the receiving end of tank fire

Handguard is ugly, but the stock there is hot. Boot has evolved into snowboot!
