My dad works at Raytheon. Was an engineer there for a while. Worked on the...osprey... but we dont talk about that. Bring your child to work day was the best. They would have tanks, SWAT armored vehicles, and huge rooms just filled with empty missile racks and a few missiles. Sometimes, they would let people "play" in some simulators they were working on. Those were the days.
If it wasn't for the fact he managed to become a military officer I'd have put my money on him being autistic. Not many people can make hundreds of hour long videos talking about minor things.
because autism totally only makes you retarded (don't bring this here ok)

Before I was born my dad worked at an Area for a while. He did the training videos for the [sp]71, U2, 22, 117[/sp] and more he still won't tell us about until they're made public. He told me he once touched the paint of an SR-71 and got chewed out because it cost the military $40,000 to repaint that one fingerprint.

Pffft, how about this:

I'd think that hand guard would heat up pretty fast with it right up against (and partially covering) the muzzle brake.

It's the same model, though.

With the season finale of one of my favorite web-series, RWBY, I feel it's appropriate, if mighty weabish, to post the highly impractical sniper rifle scythe of the main character.
I really need to get around to watching Volume 2. Is White Rose canon yet?

gas grenade launcher.... or 6 shot anti-vampire riffle?

Back in WW2, the Nazis had the bright idea of making a curved gun, that could shoot around corners or out of tank hatches.
Some info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krummlauf
There was one of them on an StG-44 up on the Rock Island Auction last month

honestly whenever i saw that design i imagined some german soldier getting drunk and accidentally bending his barrel and then noticing he could shoot around corners and showing it to his co

Everytime I look at that, It really feels like dead penis.

"Oops, I'm sorry. I accidently touched your majestic curved barrel"
By the way, they have been doing RK62's with telescopic stocks now. I've only seen like 3-5 of them in use though.
stumbled upon a picture just now

I love how the guy in that photo is looking at it like "what the fuck have these idiots given me"
Germany prototypes are the best.
Like this one.

The E-5 Rutscher was a late war paper tank and was going to be part of the planed E series of tanks. Basically duel 8cm anti tank guns on tacks and smaller then even the panzer I ( It had 2 crewman, donno about ammo though ). Only the wooden model was made and like most of the E tank series, It never saw it past the drawing board.

While the idea works (Mythbusters did it therefore it is law) the bullet tumbles right after leaving the barrel and becomes super inaccurate. IIRC they even fired it with the barrel bent 180*.

That is, if it doesn't fragment after leaving the barrel.
And that's why if you wanna shoot around corners you're better off bending the whole gun

you're not supposed to bend the gun or the barrel, you're supposed to bend the bullets.

Every time they talk about RWBY on the Podcast I entirely block it out. Especially since they praise Monty's love of impracticable and "unique" combo weapons. Which he stole from No More Heroes wholesale.
And it was even more ridiculous in that game.

I watched one episode of that show with some friends and we all hated it. looks like its done in poser and the animation is jank as fuck.
But anime isn't guns or tanks.

It was done on a shoestring budget. For the price it's pretty good and the animation quality massively improved in Vol. 2 - or at least it did for the first episode I saw.
