It's an AR-18 that looks like an FN FNC, which already looks good with the ACR stock.
Honestly there's probably a shorter list of guns (with separate pistol grips and stocks) that don't look good with ACR stocks than the list of those that do.
Honestly there's probably a shorter list of guns (with separate pistol grips and stocks) that don't look good with ACR stocks than the list of those that do.
Should start shopping ACR stocks on to guns to see what looks good :V
Should start shopping ACR stocks on to guns to see what looks good :V
I'm already trying something similar but with 3D models, as soon as I can fix out some smoothing errors I'll post some results. Anyone got some requests?
AK with ACR stock, go
Any preference on what type of AK I could use? I got Ms, RPKs, 74s, Krinks, Galils even a Twelve. Also, here it is on an HK53, because unfortunately good G3 models aren't too easy to come by but if it works on this one it should do about as well on either a full size G3 or an MP5. Also I shoved a Pmag into it, just cause.
Unfortunatly the PMAG wouldn't fit. The HK33/53 used a proprietary magazine, and weren't STANAG compatible. I like the model though. It's just not accurate.
Actually I've heard tell of people converting either HK53/33 clones to take Stanags or Stanags to fit in HK53/33s, so it can be done, although I will admit I didn't look into it enough to see what actually needs to be done for that, I just scaled the mag to fit about right.

I'm afraid I don't have a model of one of those, although with the exception of the handguards (those things are making me sick just looking at them) I could probably make one out of a Krink and a Galil. But for now here's the ACR stock on CS:GO's ACE model because that's the only one I could find I made two versions of this one, on one I didn't alter the stock height and put in a little Groza style connector to cover the hole between it and the dust cover, on the other I shortened the hinge (and everything else above the lower half of the buttplate) to about 60% their normal size. I also had to widen them by about 22% on both versions to get them to be able to hinge properly.

I'd tell you what the other things are, but I'm pretty doped still. As my recent posting habits probably show...
I am aware of the G41, but I was actually just referring to those conversions that ilikecorn posted.
I am aware of the G41, but I was actually just referring to those conversions that ilikecorn posted.
Ah, right, fair 'nuff. More HK roller-delayed guns is always a good thing, though. HK G41 is yet another rifle born too late into a world that doesn't care. Which is fair enough, 'cause honestly, roller-delayed-blowback is sorta awful. Love it, but it's not very good.
Not quite a normal gun with an ACR stock slapped on, but this disjointed mess was what I was working on when we last came to the realization those look good on anything I think the big problem with the appearance overall is the textures on that handguard.
fucking beautiful
roller-delayed-blowback is sorta awful. Love it, but it's not very good.
I disagree, Roller-delayed, while fucking brutal on everything, like you shoulder, chamber and brass; has its own special purpose in the world. The ability to have a self-contained action in a relatively small space is amazing, no clunky-ass piston out in front, no dunk-ass gas-rod you have to clean, just a simple hunk of metal for controlling all action. Mechanically speaking, its fucking brilliant, it allows you to obtain a solid, reliable mechanism for use in an inconceivably tiny platform. But, being in the modern-age with all the cosmic polymer and blue-tooth enabled case extraction, something better will probably come out.
Spending a few hours trying to replace the rollers on a rifle after they wear out frighteningly quickly will dispel you of that notion. You can find plenty of CETMEs and HKs for sale online that need new rollers, or will jam, FTE, or dent (or even crack) their receiver because of headspacing issues caused by the rollers, but I've never seen a FAL or AK that needed a new gas piston due to wear. The mechanism works a lot better on the MG42/MG3 where the entire action can recoil slightly before the rollers unlock, it doesn't beat itself to death nearly as badly.
I used electrical tape to mount a laser pen on my Daisy Red Ryder a few days ago. I'll post pics when I can get a suitable camera.

SUSAT or bust
SUSATs are terrible though even though i, personally, am a fan of the scope-raised ACOG, i want to bring to your attention a non-raised SpecterDR on a L85A2 FIST: the SpecterDR is basically just an alternative to the ACOG that the BAF is fielding, albeit in much smaller numbers.

[editline]7th November 2014[/editline] Apparently that was the second attempt at a carbine, the standardized L22 has a 12 inch barrel. I thought it looked way smaller than a Tavor...
The L22 is small enough to be a PDW if you ask me.
It's basically a bullpup of the "shorty" AR-18 models.
I believe the Jap's Howa Type 89 is based on the AR-180.
Pretty much every western modern non-AR15 is more or less an AR-18 when you get down to it.
