Without a doubt the coolest revolver ever.

The MP412 REX would like to have a word with you

i would say the mateba is one of the coolest revolvers because it sort of looks like that gun from bladerunner but then there's so many out there that are better so its very very subjective since revolvers have been around for over 150 years

apparently the bladerunner gun is also a revolver, though this is a kit and not a functional gun at all

did we ever find out what this is?

That's actually a PTR someone modified by shortening the barrel and adding a 3 position lower with a paddle mag release.
They look nice, but your face will hate you after shooting one, worse than shooting an underfolder AK.
Shit picture because the original doesn't exist anymore but here's a full-stock one.

It's something to do with mounting a three-point sling. There's something similar on the MP5's magwell.
I even found a picture of it in use:

Well since that Mateba has the barrel on the bottom, the recoil is far more in line with your arm than almost any other revolver, resulting in far less perceived recoil for the user.
Its a unique feature that I would say is one of the most interesting improvements in revolvers since their creation, especially considering how much revolvers rely on large and powerful rounds with lots of recoil.
Unless there's some sort of durability issue I'm not familiar with, I'd say they actually are among the best revolvers ever made.

Also, I didn't even get into the fact that its an auto revolver, where it uses the gases to cock the hammer like a standard handgun, rather than having a long pull double-action trigger.
Don't some weapons have dual mags as an option? Two side-by-side magazines held together by some kind of piece, so that user can just remove the used mag and insert the other almost instantly without having to reach for his ammo belt in the middle of combat?
Question for my fellow gunlovers. How is the gunplay in GTA V? I haven't played it yet and I intend to wait until the PC version, but I got kinda interested in it after talking to my cousin at a party.
Meh.
Also the weapons looks like undistilled ass, but we already talked about that in this thread.
I would like to see a GTA with Modern Warfare level of weapons. Realistic looking, customisable, no gay ass names, realistic firepower and accuracy, etc.

Problem with names and real world guns are licensing, depending on the gun, you have to pay the manufacturers for the rights to use their name and design, it's easier and cheaper just to take a bit of artistic liberty and call a Walther a Wolfram
[t]http://www.tanfoglio.it/uploads/catalog/images/piccola3jpg1.jpg[/t]
Tanfoglio Thor Raptor: a pistol that fires .223, .308, and/or .45-70 in a longer barrel. Supposedly the 1911 frame was adapted so the mag catch opens the barrel and the hammer can be accessed. Looks like some sort of James Bond gadget.
I'm seriously behind on a few game franchises. Never played any Metal Gear/Battlefield/COD. I couldn't get GTA4 to work properly so I can say I've never played any GTA either. :(
That's what mods are for, you silly thing
Heh. I hope this will prove itself true, but without some kind of serious unofficial mod tools, it will be hell of a fucking time.
Let me explain, i won't be since it's not the proper thread.
Modding guns in GTA IV was easy since not a single part of the weapon was animated ( trigger, bolt, etc ), even during reloads Niko was just playing a gesture and that was it, similar to what ArmA 2 did. Basically guns in GTA IV were nothing else than lego blocks producing muzzleflashes and sounds.
In GTA V it's a different story entirely. Parts of the gun are moving like they should, and have proper reload animations ( even different ones if the weapon is empty or not ), plus the new first person mode which brings it's own animations, different from the third person ones.
Modding wise it's a whole new deal. Like it's two different worlds. So we'll see.
Modding in GTA 4 was horendus as it is, you could never add anything it always had to replace something, how it works out in V will be interesting

These are STI2011 .40 cal 1911s that were allegedly used/evaluated by Delta Force. They came with 17 and 22 round magazines.
According to this: http://www.gunsholstersandgear.com/2011/09/12/delta-force-and-the-glock/ The Glock 22 was selected over it because it was a lot cheaper and more reliable.

Try hitting something from 1.5 km range with it though.
It's more of a DMR.

How bout some Russian ОЦ-44 for the times when you need to pierce 3 people in a line right through but don't have a barret m107 rifle at hand?

Why would someone drill holes in the barrel? What could that possibly do?
Why would someone drill holes in the barrel? What could that possibly do?
Causes some of the gasses to escape out the top of the barrel thus pushing it down and lowering upwards recoil, at the expense of some muzzle velocity and potentially accuracy, if it's a bad job. It's called porting.
Why would someone drill holes in the barrel? What could that possibly do?
I would guess they tried to make it kind of like a muzzle break/compensator where the extra gases are directed outwards. But there's a good reason why those are muzzle devices that go on the END of the barrel.
