i think you're thinking of the ferdinand/elefant/maus, m8
Most of the German tanks had shit engines prone to a lot problems. Like the Panther and the Tiger. The Panther was pretty bad, IIRC.
I wonder what tank had the best KDR of WWII. Totally serious btw
I wonder what tank had the best KDR of WWII. Totally serious btw
Probably the Super Pershing, since there was only one and it was never destroyed, that sets the bar pretty high. Maybe some other weird one-off design just because they're not exactly playing the math fairly. If we were to talk tanks with actual production statistics I'd suspect something late war British or Russian, as they'd likely have the best engineering with non-shit materials, veteran tank crews, and weapons capable of dealing with the German heavy tanks. Most importantly, they'd be fighting late-war German tanks, with mostly new crews, horrible reliability issues, and the infamous spalling problem.

My father has one. The sights are awful [editline]20th December 2014[/editline] Its an AK-47,essentially,right?

I have a fetish for lever-action and break-action guns. [T]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/be/Bicentennial_Rifle.jpg[/T] I fucking love the REX, damn shame it never "happened" [T]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/38/MP_412.jpg[/T] EDIT: Here, have some tacticool because I'm a little mean. The Panther was pretty bad, IIRC.
german engines weren't the problem, it was the final drives, their planetary gearing being made of very, very poor quality metal. some panthers would only last 50mi from a factory before a FD gear would fail. German engines were actually fairly reliable, despite being very complex and gasoline powered. The tiger's most notable problem was the cooling system and how easily damaged it was, but maybachs are tough motherfuckers. Otto Carius drove his tiger 30km with a heavily damaged cooling system and made it home, right as he did, the whole engine seized. Warframe's designs are fucking retarded and I love them.
they look nice when they're in the hands of whoever you're shooting. the opticor however is pure sex. For all the weirdly stupid designs, I've grown fond of how this thing looks
sexy ass carl gustaf maaaannn [thumb]http://a.pomf.se/pguqpb.jpg[/thumb]
Any idea what that cool looking optic on that is?
no idea here's a better picture of the optic
Tiger
Not likely. Higher than average, yes, but far from being the best. You should be looking towards tank destroyers for this, since that's the entire point of tank destroyers: fucking tanks.

Welp, thats a giant misread on my part. Shame on me.
I like the fat version of the Lord Carl. Dem breaching-spikes. [sp]Yes, I know they're not breaching-spikes. Shut up though.[/sp]
Dem breaching-spikes.
Now I want to see someone try door breaching using a Carl-Gustav... "Voila, door is gone! Building door was attached to is gone too!"
Any idea what that cool looking optic on that is?
Saab's new proprietary sight for it that has laser rangefinding and ballistic compensation. Don't know if it has night vision or thermal capabilities but I would assume so given it's bulk. Also, I like how it just has some foam padding zip-tied to it.
Also, I like how it just has some foam padding zip-tied to it.
So you can take it off and have something comfortable to sit on!
Anyone know a decent site for some explanation into modern weaponry? I've learned a bit of stuff over the course of lurking around the internet, but I've never ran into a site that actually explains differences in a nice and easy matter. (e.g. caliber differences, barrel sizes and so on and so forth.)

That the foam padding is so you don't bang your head on the side too bad.
Warframe's designs are fucking retarded and I love them.
So that's what a Chauchat would look like in the future :v:
Not likely. Higher than average, yes, but far from being the best. You should be looking towards tank destroyers for this, since that's the entire point of tank destroyers: fucking tanks.
I was thinking that, but the Allied ones were pretty lightly armored and often open-topped, in addition to often being forced to operate on the offensive where they weren't meant to be. Meanwhile the German ones had to deal with the fact that pretty much all of them were destroyed, and most of them were only a bit more reliable than the other German tanks. I will give a cool-guy shoutout to the Jagdpanther though, because just look at this fucker:

Lets get some more Swedish hardware in here.
