The round wouldn't cost so much to reload if you had your own lathe or chose to use cast projectiles
?
Lol yes, exactly like that.
Yes! .50 (.500) S&W Magnum
I don't think the cylinder is long enough. I could be wrong though.
I never liked star trek weapons cause they don't look like actual weapons, they look like TV remotes
I agree for pretty much all the pistols, but I love the rifles they came up with in TNG+ era shows. Plus ST games have some badass weapons in them. Phaser Compression Rifle from Star Trek Voyager : Elite Force: Arc Welder, same game: Photon Burst, literally a miniature photon torpedo launcher. Filled the role of RPG in the game, with unguided and semi-seeking modes. Quantum Burst from the sequel. Upgrade/downgrade from the original. More damage and now it's blue, but less ammo and now guidance is with a laser. Finally, the Federation Assault Rifle. In reality it's a double barrel semi-automatic shotgun that you reload by pumping(don't ask me how). One of the absolute best weapons of the game, and it looks badass to boot. I loved these games.
Please rehost the image of the arc welder.
Here's some more on .900: (skip to 1:45 for firing it)
Mmm mmm mm
I know it's unlikely and/or impossible, but I've always felt like I'd be really paranoid about losing a thumb to extreme recoil or something. :v:

Used by the brits I believe.
PTRD beats all Nothing like a simple pipe with a stock, pistol grip and bipod [sp]lol no they were shit[/sp]
Please rehost the image of the arc welder.
Post edited just for you  [editline]2nd June 2013[/editline] I need to play these games again. I got 2 copies each of the Mac versions, but I no longer have a Mac and even if I did it would be too new to play them. Then again, I do have an iMac G3 somewhere...
In the past I didn't like it but recently I fell in love with the AS VAL.

[sub][sub](that is, PTRS-41 is not "semi-automatic version" of PTRD.)[/sub][/sub]
While searching for one I came across this, the fuck? [t]http://www.nrablog.com/image.axd?picture=2010%2F10%2FNRAblog_popp_Nockgun.jpg[/t]
Nock 7-Barrel Volley Gun! Features prominently in Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series of novels where it's carried by Sgt Harper. It was designed to fire 7 pistol balls simultaneously, and was intended to be used by the Navy when boarding or repelling enemy ships. They thought 7 shots going off at once could clear a tightly-packed deck. Unfortunately they didn't account for the gun's massive recoil, and it never found much use since it would usually dislocate or break the shoulder of whomever was firing it.
???
lol i posted that bitch a while back. it started a 3 page shitstorm of people saying it was ugly as fuck.
Have semi-auto version.
What's that? WW2 anti-tank rifles? MAKE WAY FOR FINLAND! Lahti L-39, 20x138mm because the designer decided a 13.2mm machine gun wasn't good enough. Once the Soviets started rolling out tanks that it couldn't penetrate the Finns decided to convert the weapon to full-auto for use as an anti-aircraft gun and apparently even used some of the semi-autos as sniper rifles. Ridiculously large weapon, the magazine alone weighed more than a submachine gun and the gun itself took a two-man team if not a horse to transport.
lol i posted that bitch a while back. it started a 3 page shitstorm of people saying it was ugly as fuck.
Do you want to start another one? Because it's ugly as fuck.
Do you want to start another one? Because it's ugly as fuck.
I think it could look good with a few things changed.
Do you want to start another one? Because it's ugly as fuck.
you could, with yourself. anyone who says it's ugly as fuck's opinion is devalued the moment they state that. sexiest gun around. only way to make it sexier would be to bullpup it. maybe chamber it in 7.62x54R or some big sniper round like that. don't bother to try and change my mind, cause my mind's made up.
I think it could look good with a few things changed.
Yeah, they could remove that silly elongated rail, get rid of the bulky thumbhole stock and maybe put on a flash hider. I guess it'd kinda look like this.
you could, with yourself. anyone who says it's ugly as fuck's opinion is devalued the moment they state that. sexiest gun around. only way to make it sexier would be to bullpup it. maybe chamber it in 7.62x54R or some big sniper round like that. don't bother to try and change my mind, cause my mind's made up.
So basically it'd be sexier if it was a completely different weapon.
So basically it'd be sexier if it was a completely different weapon.
Mmm... Yeah, now you're talking.
So basically it'd be sexier if it was a completely different weapon.
yes that is exactly what i said. as if this thread isn't about aesthetics than the actual function of the gun. and even though it kind of is the latter i'm speaking in the former. and the best you got is to muddle those two things together to fuck any kind of discussion with a classic diversionary tactic of talking slightly off topic and way off base to eventually derail the entire fucking thing. people post aliens pulse rifles up in here BUT THEY'RE A TOMMY GUN INSIDE A SHELL ESSENTIALLY.
I guess that game is the one exception cause the one from TNG just looks like a TV remote with a foregrip
I meant the Type IIIa Phaser Compression Rifles.
I meant the Type IIIa Phaser Compression Rifles.
Those were probably the only guns i thought looked cool in the trek universe.
I think thats a Boys Anti Tank rifle. Used by the brits I believe.
Yes, yes it is. Designed by Captain H C Boys and chambered in the .55 Boys cartridge, which was essentially a .50BMG stepped up to 13.9mm. Worked alright until they decided it was a good idea to make carbines of anti-tank rifles and started cutting down the barrels, which reduced effectiveness considerably and gave the rifle a bad reputation. So bad in fact that the Canadian government commissioned Walt Disney to make a training video on the weapon: It was also featured in this American propaganda poster:
