higher caliber doesn't necessarily mean louder, my AR15 in 5.56x45 is louder than my G98 in 7.92x57, and the G98 hits twice as hard.
the AR has a shorter barrel so less powder burns before exiting the barrel, that coupled with the higher velocity means a buttload of noise

I have never even heard a single gun shot in my life.
Except a rifle that shot little pellets that could barely break your skin. They were so soft little bullets you could chew them into unusable form. I was less than 10 years old back then anyway.

Well in technicality the Arctic Warfare featured in CS is not the labeled Arctic Warfare Police, but the Arctic Warfare Magnum
