Didn't the Nagant's only design the floor plate for the magazine or something for the Mosin? Arguing gun semantics in a thread about guns, how silly of me.
This the Coolest weapons thread. The Rule of Cool is in effect and thus, everything should be taken light heartedly.
Those pellets were made of lead. If you chewed on one you probably have pretty nasty brain damage now
Not really. And I could eat a hundred lead pellets and still be less brain damaged than most of the U.S.
Didn't the Nagant's only design the floor plate for the magazine or something for the Mosin? Arguing gun semantics in a thread about guns, how silly of me.
He didn't even do that. Nagant thought up welding the magazine spring to the floorplate in his entry to the same program, mosin liked the idea and welded down his mag spring, nagant through a bitch fit and sued for IP theft.
It's still dumb to call things something they're not.
yeah with the stick-up-your-ass lexicon of yours. i'm sorry i don't spend my nights on wikipedia looking up how a fucking rifle was produced. it's understandable with something like clips and magazines, but something as specific as this? come on. and if you're going to correct me you don't have to be a douche about it?

A nagant is a pistol, A mosin nagant is the rifle, the 2 aren't interchangeable.
kinda is because more people know about the rifle than the pistol. not only that but they're over a century old, i think that makes them pretty obscure. [editline]13th June 2013[/editline] this is how slang is created actually.
was watching terminator salvation and couldn't get over how sweet his modded hk looked

[editline]13th June 2013[/editline] this is how slang is created actually.
The 1911 is a century old and it's by no means obscure. Theres been roughly 38 million mosin nagant variants made by many many different countries, and over 2 million Nagants made by Russia. Both the mosin and Nagant have served in every Russian war since 1895 to even recent Chechen conflicts. They are by no means obscure or unseen. Sure thats how slang is made but it doesn't make it any less wrong.
the 1911 was the main sidearm for nearly a century of pretty much the biggest superpower of the past 100 years. i don't even know how russia considered itself a superpower sometimes. also Afghanistan is on the news, Chechnya isn't. it's simply lesser known. and for the most part only gun nuts would know about either weapon. mosin, nagant or the comination of the two rings practically no bells in comparison to Colt
The mosin nagant was the main fucking service rifle for the Russians during WWII
, as well as the Finnish, and all these fuckers. The Mosin nagant IS STILL used by TALIBAN AND IRAQI INSURGETS TO THIS DAY. It was used actively against US troops during the Vietnam war as a battle rifle and sniper rifle. The Nagants were given out alongside Tokarevs and I have no doubt that the taliban and other islamist insurgent groups still use them. By your logic, the STG-44, first ever assault rifle, is obscure. Chechnya isn't on the news anymore because Russia isn't actively invading it all the time anymore.
oh my god dude drop it seriously. i'm not even going to mention the gun in this post. we've moved on. this isn't a battle or even a debate. it's stupid banter about stupid shit in a place where we celebrate glorious firearms. guns, things we've loved ever since we played army in the fucking woods. i mean ask yourself what the fuck is accomplished in continuing this. you aren't going to change my mind and i'm not going to change yours. i'll stand here and be an ignoramus and you can have your stick wedged... where-ever and we can agree to disagree. why are people so combative here. i mean i understand passion but this is just downright aggressive. and all it does it just breed more bad vibes and ill will. i'm not saying i'm a saint by any fucking means, but can we chill here?
I'm sorry but I can imagine this jamming quite fast
it didn't really have any jamming issues at all that weren't due to user error
yeah how exactly does the cartridge ejection system work? like at all? does it rely on the cylinder cycling fast enough so there's enough momentum to throw the case out or something? cause that sounds insanely shoddy. if it doesn't it looks like the hot casings just tumble down the side... onto the hand of the user [editline]13th June 2013[/editline]
it didn't really have any jamming issues at all that weren't due to user error
those are kinda still jamming issues. even if they aren't inherent to the gun you still need to take the user into account otherwise without a user it's a stapler. not taking human error into account is a serious mistake and a pretty bad oversight.
