Another good example of a round that requires quite a curve is .303 British

On top we have a Bren in .303, on the bottom is a later model of the same gun in 7.62 NATO, you can see the pretty distinctive curve the .303 (looks kinda like an early AK prototype mag) requires compared to the same capacity magazine in 7.62x51.

I'll admit I did not think about that, but from what I've heard in the case of the MP5 the magazines were specifically changed from straight to curved because the straight ones had problems with hollow point rounds. It's perfectly possible I'm wrong, but I've heard that quite a few times from several people.

Last time i checked, Galils don't take STANAGs. They attach the same way as an AK's mag, so they can't be the same.
I think that there is just a really long Galil magazine.

No, SAW means "Squad Automatic Weapon". Yes, a 249 is an SAW, but so is an RPK and many other LMG's.

Technically SAW just means "Squad Automatic Weapon", there are quite a few weapons that have served in that type of role, such as the L86, HK21, M27, RPD, RPK, and QBB-95 (several of these under different designations such as LSW or IAR). He may have meant it was a Galil SAW magazine, as the Galil ARM was intended to function as both an assault rifle and a SAW, and was used as the latter, and its successor the Negev can use the same magazines. Although you are right some people use SAW as another name for the M249, they're technically not interchangeable terms.

So it doesn't take mags from from the only weapon that is actually referred by as "The SAW" aka the 249.
But instead it takes mags from a unknown weapon that has ever been used as a "Squad Automatic Weapon"

The reason you think the 249 is called EXCLUSIVELY a "SAW" is because you've played call of duty or battlefield at some point. "SAW" isn't even the actual name of the 249.

The Galil has a standard 50 round mag, they were used primarily for the Galil ARM
You can get a STANAG adapter for 5.56 Galils

Secondly, in just about every form of reference the M249 has the suffix SAW and is commonly referred to in american military nomenclature as a SAW.

Sorry if my bluntness makes me seem like an ass.
The "SAW" in the 249's US military designation is just it's designation. It's no different than "M60 MG", "M240 MG". It's just nicknamed the SAW because it sounds cool.

The pistols that they use are pretty cool. Don't understand why some of the trigger guard is missing, though.
Where have you been watching it? All I can do is watch the regular FMA on Netflix.
