Another good example of a round that requires quite a curve is .303 British On top we have a Bren in .303, on the bottom is a later model of the same gun in 7.62 NATO, you can see the pretty distinctive curve the .303 (looks kinda like an early AK prototype mag) requires compared to the same capacity magazine in 7.62x51.
Curved ones feed certain rounds (in the case of the MP5: hollowpoints) better.
Uhh, no. It's because the 9mm round is tapered, thus a curved magazine works better
Uhh, no. It's because the 9mm round is tapered, thus a curved magazine works better
I'll admit I did not think about that, but from what I've heard in the case of the MP5 the magazines were specifically changed from straight to curved because the straight ones had problems with hollow point rounds. It's perfectly possible I'm wrong, but I've heard that quite a few times from several people.
what happens when the cylinder rotates does each section have FREEDOM on it? or just one? symbolism behind this is outstanding
It either turns into a crying eagle or a drone.
Shame because I enjoy the MP5 with a straight mag better than a curved.
AKS-74u with a RPK-74 magazine, and a Galil with a M249 magazine.
I'll say it again: I'd rather take a Draco with an RPK drum Romanian AK is best AK. I will concede Galil's are nice though. [sp]Yes I've been playing Killing Floor again[/sp]

They attach the same way as an AK's mag, so they can't be the same. I think that there is just a really long Galil magazine.

Now normally I think saigas look like the unholy abortion child of shotguns and the generic-automatic-rifle #1294, but when they're done up like this I rather like them; [t]http://www.gunco.net/gallery/data/616/Left1.jpg[/t] And now we have a HOLY GOD WHAT IN CHRIST'S PISSFLAPS IS THAT: [t]http://www.dinzagarms.com/pics/wood/dinzag-skulls12_01.jpg[/t][t]http://www.dinzagarms.com/pics/wood/dinzag-skulls12_02.jpg[/t][t]http://www.dinzagarms.com/pics/wood/dinzag-skulls12_03.jpg[/t][t]http://www.dinzagarms.com/pics/wood/dinzag-skulls12_04.jpg[/t][t]http://www.dinzagarms.com/pics/wood/dinzag-saiga-stock2.jpg[/t][t]http://www.dinzagarms.com/pics/wood/dinzag-saiga-stock3.jpg[/t][t]http://www.dinzagarms.com/pics/wood/dinzag-saiga-stock4.jpg[/t]
AK confirmed to be Satan's favorite rifle.
Too bad when saigas are in that config, their trigger pull is absolute garbage.
escuse me, I didn't mean an M249 mag, I meant a SAW mag.
Afaik SAW is just a different name for a M249 Either way they both fire STANAGs
Afaik SAW is just a different name for a M249 Either way they both fire STANAGs
No, SAW means "Squad Automatic Weapon". Yes, a 249 is an SAW, but so is an RPK and many other LMG's.
Afaik SAW is just a different name for a M249 Either way they both fire STANAGs
Technically SAW just means "Squad Automatic Weapon", there are quite a few weapons that have served in that type of role, such as the L86, HK21, M27, RPD, RPK, and QBB-95 (several of these under different designations such as LSW or IAR). He may have meant it was a Galil SAW magazine, as the Galil ARM was intended to function as both an assault rifle and a SAW, and was used as the latter, and its successor the Negev can use the same magazines. Although you are right some people use SAW as another name for the M249, they're technically not interchangeable terms.
No, SAW means "Squad Automatic Weapon". Yes, a 249 is an SAW, but so is an RPK and many other LMG's.
So it doesn't take mags from from the only weapon that is actually referred by as "The SAW" aka the 249. But instead it takes mags from a unknown weapon that has ever been used as a "Squad Automatic Weapon" Do you understand why you confuse me?

"SAW" isn't even the actual name of the 249.

The Galil has a standard 50 round mag, they were used primarily for the Galil ARM You can get a STANAG adapter for 5.56 Galils
AKS-74u with a RPK-74 magazine, and a Galil with a M249 magazine.
Secondly, in just about every form of reference the M249 has the suffix SAW and is commonly referred to in american military nomenclature as a SAW. Do you seriously have to be a dick to everyone that's slightly misinformed? I mean at least he didn't scream 'FAMAS'.

The "SAW" in the 249's US military designation is just it's designation. It's no different than "M60 MG", "M240 MG". It's just nicknamed the SAW because it sounds cool.
Looks like something designed by H.R. Giger, and it's probably chambered in creepy baby things, too
Not enough dicks and vaginas to be H.R. Giger.
Not enough dicks and vaginas to be H.R. Giger.
are those not dicks on the gas tube cover?
are those not dicks on the gas tube cover?
I think they're supposed to be horns. Even if they were dicks, its still not enough to be H.R Giger.

Been watching FMA: Brotherhood. The pistols that they use are pretty cool. Don't understand why some of the trigger guard is missing, though.
Where have you been watching it? All I can do is watch the regular FMA on Netflix.
