If you mean the bit that juts out at the top of the hilt, it's most likely to stop the user from losing grip and letting his hand slip onto the blade, and to stop an enemy's sword from sliding down the blade onto the users hand/wrist.
No, I mean the sharpened section right after that on the spine.
Wheellocks are cool too, typically very ornate since they were too complex to be mass-produced.
Me and my friend were at a museum once and I showed him some wheellock guns and explained to him what they were. His response was 'pick up a w(h)eel gun'
You should have taken the gun from the exhibit, loaded it, and shot him with it.
But he's sooooo cute~
But he's sooooo cute~
no excuses
But he's sooooo cute~
We don't care how damn ~kawaii he is do itttt.
Me and my friend were at a museum once and I showed him some wheellock guns and explained to him what they were. His response was 'pick up a w(h)eel gun'
Should've replied with: "I would, but I don't think I'm worthy of wheelding it."
Should've replied with: "I would, but I don't think I'm worthy of wheelding it."
You should really consider suicide at this point in your life.
Nothing goes unpunished
Puns are ruined when you italics them. We can see your terrible pun, dammit.
Puns are ruined when you italics them. We can see your terrible pun, dammit.
It's to show emphasis emphasis
It's not worth making a pun if you have to emphasize it.
Less puns, more guns Found this while looking for more images of the OICW, it was supposedly an early prototype that used a side-by-side design.

Speaking of knives, my father and I just picked this up for my brother: I realize that boo bear grylls he drinks piss blahblahblah but it's actually a pretty decent knife. It's got a good, strong blade on it, and it comes with a swedish fire-starter (read: flint) and has a sharpening stone built into the sheath. It also has a whistle and a hammer on the bottom of the grip, which is kind of sweet.
It's a wikipedia image, but on the topic of bladed weapons, I'm a sucker for the kukri with all the traditional trappings. [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/47/Kukri%2C_karda_%26_chakmak.jpg[/t] Typically comes with a small unsharpened blade - the chakmak - which can be used for firestarting, and a smaller utility knife - the karda. The kukri itself is massively useful as a tool - cooking, woodcutting, skinning, and even digging if you feel so inclined. Then there's how useful it is as a weapon - the Gurkhas love theirs for a reason, this motherfucker is amazing at slashing, is actually pretty good for stabbing, and kind of behaves like an axe and a knife's bastard child, pretty good at acting as both, but not as good as a dedicated one. It's more than acceptable for fighting off 40 or so train robbers. Modern ones vary in size, but a general purpose one will be around 40cm long, and they are a bit on the hefty side, but I think they rank pretty highly on the cool side of the scale.
Holy shit I have a kukri just like that one

yeah their baby food sucks too
You guys still like Crazy McSlingshotdude? 'cause this is a slingshot-powered double-barreled throwing knife launcher underbarrel attachment that I just thought was hilarious.
Alright now I'm almost positive Hickok has access to a time machine, three days ago he showed a gun from the future, now he's got one from the 1860s [sp]It's a replica, sorry[/sp]
I've been enjoying this guy's videos way more than what I'd like to think. The slingshot guy is a pussy though, won't get my view.
I've been enjoying this guy's videos way more than what I'd like to think. He can make a slingshot that shoots anything and he looks like a hairless bear.
Has the slingshot dude made a slingshot that shoots slingshots yet?
Has the slingshot dude made a slingshot that shoots slingshots yet?
He did. We don't talk about that.
Has the slingshot dude made a slingshot that shoots slingshots yet?
thats like making a gun that shoots guns, or a bomb that drops bombs. We've done the latter, and they're banned by 2008 CCM treaty.

There was some bladed weapon posted ages ago, the blade was really curved, like almost forming a quarter-circle, and it used concave, like a kukri. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, but someone posted a video of someone slashing a pig carcass with it, and cutting like 4 inches deep without any effort.
So basically as long as he just uses it for basic cutting he's fine?
batoning is light use. if the most he ever cuts with it is cardboard he'll be fine but that's not the market for those knives
