They do make stocked versions, they just cut them off so they can be exported as pistols.

This thing was supposed to blind enemy optics. It never was mass-produced though as it was too expensive and required large amounts of energy.
laser tanks

also "blinding optics" is a sensative area because it also can be used for blinding people, which is against the geneva convention
[editline]13th April 2013[/editline]
also reading on it, seems like the soviets had very little research into lasers for that thing needing 30kg of artificial rubies and silver coated spirals for beam convergance?, seems like alot of expensive stuff for a laser that is supposed to be mass produced eventually

Killing is fine but blinding is not?

Almost makes me want to get the DLC
Killing is fine but blinding is not?
You can't treat someone for blindness, but you can for bullets and severed limbs due to explosions. That is like saying "Shooting is fine, but gas attacks aren't?". Blinding is something that will effect someone for the rest of their life.

I'm not big on the buzz bow, but the DLC is pretty decent, and the flare revolvers are great, cheap, lightweight, and long range firespitters.

I think it's safe to say that the Cold 1851 Navy is pretty sweet to begin with.

Do I need to re-quote the war crimes debate we had earlier/last thread?

You can't threat people for being death either.
The plus side of a laser is that its always non-lethal, while a bullet may be lethal or may not be.
Also i don't know much about lasers used for breaking UN laws, but most lasers will only cause temporary eye damage.

The dead don't suffer, people forcibly blinded do.

Pretty sure if we poll "would you rather be death or blind" people will vote blind.

Being shot and bleeding out is very painful, losing your legs to a landmine and bleeding out is very painful, but they're are still death.
Being permanently blinded by a laser will cause pain and suffering for the rest of that persons life. Believe it or not, having your retinas burnt out by heat fucking sucks. Theres a reason why wille P, Mustard Gas, Anthrax, Nerve Gas, Agent Orange, and Napalm aren't used anymore.

I'd rather die than be blinded

I am no expert but the retina has no pain receptors.
I am no expert but the retina has no pain receptors.
It's mostly psychological, not including the mental trauma that comes with it. It would be like a permanent arc eye, except complete blindness.

No, fuck you. I bought UT3 simply because they advertised the enforcers being back in the game, and instead of being the semi auto .50 ae spitting badass mankillers they were in UT99 I got something that looked like an apple product and probably fires .22
Unsatisfying to shoot
Unsatisfying to look at
They ruined the enforcer.

Thank you for that lovely picture, i put it in a new tag, and forgot clicking it, so about half an hour afterwards i though, what's in that tag right there, and, in a slightly ironic twist of fate, that picture will be forever imprinted into my retinas.

The V-22 has been plagued with them from the start and still continues to have them, and they're quite fatal too.
When the UH-60 was going through trials or it's early competition, it was flying over a forest when a small part in the engine basically stopped it sending power to the rotors, so it fell out of the sky. Because of how tough the bird was, the rotors smacked the trees out of the way and the crew landed safely with little to no damage to the helo. They quickly identified the problem, repaired it, and finished the trials.
The V-22 has had 7 crashes with 36 deaths in those crashes. Only 1 of those crashes was in a combat zone, and it wasn't due to enemy fire.

AR-15 upper that works like a P90. (Shell casings are even ejected from the bottom via magwell.)
Killing is fine but blinding is not?
ikr, the U.S. navy was having problems with this when they deployed the laser, because it can also be used for blinding
apparently it goes back to the whole gas warfare thing

Looks like something that would fit very well as a weapon in TF2.
It is prohibited to employ laser weapons specifically designed, as their sole combat function or as one of their combat functions, to cause permanent blindness to unenhanced vision, that is to the naked eye or to the eye with corrective eyesight devices. The High Contracting Parties shall not transfer such weapons to any State or non-State entity.
