I really like the Skyraider. It looks like a less stubby P-47 to me.
Don't mind us just pushing over the DMZ because fuck you best korea How about some heritage flights? I'll say it again, that one on top looks like a miscarried FAMAS.
I'll say it again, that one on top looks like a miscarried FAMAS.
it looks nothing like a famas or do you think everything with a carry handle is a famas? [editline]21st July 2013[/editline] because you'd be right
To me the general shape of it looks like it's some type of mutant, deformed, FAMAS. Less so than the old one, but I still see some resemblance.
Uh oh, the thread's in danger of becoming Coolest/Ugliest Aircraft again - time to post some awesome guns [sp]totally not stolen from Something Awful's gun subforum[/sp] Oh hey, a 1911. What's so special about it, aside from how shiny it is, you might ask? Well, it was made in what's pretty much the first year of production, 1912. (only a hundred guns were actually made in 1911) This gun, ladies and gentlemen, is a hundred and one years old. Look at that beaut'. There's some really interestin' stuff the guy who bought it wrote about it, so I'm just gonna drop a link to the thread here. Hopefully the paywall isn't up again. Also, old Smith & Wessons! .357 from such a short barrel would probably have a hell of a kick. Pretty pretty .44 ...and a .38 oh fuck they're co-
Anyone know what the purpose of flechettes are? I never understood them.

The one from putting the slide catch/release in the wrong way!
Anyone know what the purpose of flechettes are? I never understood them.
Same reason suicide bombers put nails on the outside of their bomb vests. Having hundreds, if not thousands, of nails raining down on top of you at a very high velocity is very deadly. I could post a few NSFW pictures of the effects of flechette shells, but that would be in poor taste. In shotguns, they're pretty painful as well
*2 second google* Also.. is this a nerf gun?
A foam dart couldn't fit through that barrel, so no.
I always thought of the P-47 as the grandfather of the A-10, since the P-47 is the Thunderbolt and the A-10 is the Thunderbolt II.
USAS 12 looks sort of strange to me. But that's just me.
A foam dart couldn't fit through that barrel, so no.
It was a joke. anybody know what it is?
Anyone know what the purpose of flechettes are? I never understood them.
Look up the US Army's SPIW and SALVO program, then you'll understand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Purpose_Individual_Weapon http://www.thegunzone.com/spiw.html Basically we were looking for a way to put a large number of projectiles downrange and wound as many enemies as possible with a standard rifle instead of an LMG. Could penetrate steel helmets and kevlar of the time. Then we started using flechettes in shotguns because it penetrated the foliage of Vietnam with greater effect. Teflon coated fiberglass sabot; it was also determined that the fiberglass blown out the ejection port was getting into soldiers eyes and noses. Not a good thing...
I always thought of the P-47 as the grandfather of the A-10, since the P-47 is the Thunderbolt and the A-10 is the Thunderbolt II.
Correct, P-47 made by Republic, A-10 was made by the mergered Republic-Fairchild corp.
The Loudener Yes a real one, not Sledge Hammer's... Put this on your Mosin M44...
You can sorta get one of those for a Mosin I thought about getting one for my M44 but the only place I can shoot atm is an indoor range, and firing it in an indoor range with a loudener would probably cause peoples' eyes noses to start bleeding.
Do it anyway.
I still haven't fired a real gun in my life and I most likely won't get a chance but I used one of the modern bows and it was so comfortable to use. I used the second from right.
I wonder how a loudener would sound on a .22 lr. It'd be kinda fun to put on on my M&P 22-15 to make it sound less like a BB gun.
You'll either love it or hate it.
This has been posted several times already, I personally don't mind the way that stock looks on a BAR (sorry, I just find pistol grips and separate stocks more attractive), but the way the finished version of the furniture looks is appalling:
everybody hates it. redjacket is literally worse than hitler when it comes to customizing firearms.
that's not a redjacket gun, is it? [editline]23rd July 2013[/editline] as far as I'm aware the whole design is all jesse james
that's not a redjacket gun, is it?
It is and it isn't. Red jacket took a BAR and cut out the furniture for the rifle. After that they handed it off to Jesse James (dood who makes custom bikes) who had one of his engravers do the engraving work on the furniture.
