WE NEED MORE BRICKS!!! :v:
We need to get into fights, leave the lights on, drop bombs, do tours of the east, contract diseases, bury bones, break up homes, send flowers by phone, take to drink, go to shrinks, give up meat, rarely sleep, keep people as pets, train dogs, race rats, fill the attic with cash, bury treasures, store up leisures, and never relax at all...

:saddowns:
Pink Floyd fans are people too, we even Go Fishing occasionally.
Yeah, But we do tend to stare into Every Strangers Eyes.
[QUOTE=CoolCorky;27883582]Well at least you didn't resort to Flaming. I Remember A Day when Pink Floyd puns were Free Four all, and no amount of Money could buy them off you. But as soon as you make a pun, they follow you like Sheep and before you know it your own Mother is telling you to Stop, because you're One Of The Few to still be making these terrible puns. "One Slip", she says, "And you'll be drowning in your own Sorrow, remembering these puns and just wishing you could Take It Back." And you will sit there Lost For Words.
okay i'll Stop now

I agree. I wouldn't want to Meddle in their affairs, and I certainly wouldn't want them to yell "Hey You" and Speak to Me while they Keep Talking about their favourite Floyd albums, for I'd just be Lost for Words. I'd probably just Run Like Hell.
oh god these puns are giving me Brain Damage

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Here's something.
If Roger Waters concieved The Wall by imagining a wall between himself and the crowd, why is the album talking as if he is with the crowd?
Here is the Comfortably Numb demo. I find it pretty interesting.

I think thats pretty damn awesome.
Here is the demo before that.

Probably because if it had been purely first-person, ("I DID THIS and I DID THAT") it would have been a little too obvious that it was autobiographical.
Plus a lot of floyd songs were second person (referring to "you")

Ahh, so The Wall... isn't actually what it seems. :smug:
The Wall is actually written from multiple perspectives. Off the top of my head.
In the Flesh - The changed or evil version of Pink directed towards the audience. This distention is made with "Pink isn't well, he stayed back at the hotel".
The Thin Ice - First person directed towards Pink
Comfortably Numb - The doctors speaking to Pink and Pink talking within himself
Nobody Home - A first person narrative from Pink's perspective
Don't Leave Me Now - Pink talking to his girlfriend
The Trial - This actually has a lot of different characters talking
Hey You is probably the one song on The Wall that captures what the album is about. It's not really clear who is speaking in the song, making it much more universal. Musically, the song is very cold and desperate too.
There is that one motif in the wall that has really inspired me. It is used in a bunch of times in the Wall, but is more obvious in Hey You. The notes are ABCB~, and it is really simple but very effective. It's used on Another Brick in the Wall and is the vocal melody. It is also used in The Trial. I think it is used a few more places. But it really got me thinking about the power of short and simple phrases and how they can be used to connect different songs throughout an album.
