Just got their best of, the Wall and Wish you were here from the library. I still prefer Dark Side of the Moon to the Wall I think, except obviously for Comfortably Numb which is easily one of the best songs I've ever heard.
does mason actually use his double bass in any pink floyd studio tracks?
He doesn't, they're different sized bass drums.
Gilmour seems to put more effort in his solo work than he did while controlling Pink Floyd. [editline]15th February 2011[/editline] Seriously... did he make anything as good as this on Momentary Lapse of Reason??
Probably sums up what most people were feeling about John Lennon's death.
It's a damn good record, I suggest you get it. Not better than Pros and Cons however.
So this is how the girl who sings in The Great Gig In The Sky looks. Guess that makes me a racist :v:
When I first listened to Stairway to Heaven, I thought the voices at the end (starting with "AND AS WE WIND ON DOWN THE ROAD") were sung by black women :v:
Let's talk about the Publius Enigma riddle.
I'm a big fan of the song Sorrow. and I think High Hopes was a perfect song to have in their last album. Honestly one of the best songs in their lineup. Also guys, gonna show you something pretty funny, not sure if any porcupine tree listeners have picked up on this before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuTrOpfdlWg (Skip to about 2 minutes in on this) Pretty funny to see how much pink floyd influenced Steve Wilson in the earlier years of his career. I wouldn't say it about Porcupine Tree in its current state though, obviously.
Damn... Piper at the Gates of Dawn is so groovy. I can't get my head around how awesome it is.
I actually prefer ASoS when it comes to the super-early Pink Floyd albums, but they're both really good
Anyone here notice how much Gilmour likes the concept of water? -Marooned from The Division Bell -"The endless river, forever and ever" High Hopes -Most of the stuff from On An Island (On An Island, The Blue, Take a Breath, etc.) -He owns a recording studio boat named Astoria -"Swimming in a fish bowl" Wish You Were Here -Hell, his former bandmate's name is Waters Haha, maybe I'm just cherry picking, but I think its a funny coincidence . Feel free to add to the list.

Probably because most of the music he makes is big and wet
Fresh, pure water. :smug:
Floyd music is sort of... flowing, little, trickling things that amount to a powerful wave.
Any of you guys listened to Syd Barrett's solo stuff? I thought the Madcap Laughs was a damn good album.
Any of you guys listened to Syd Barrett's solo stuff? I thought the Madcap Laughs was a damn good album.
I have a double vinyl album of his, consisting of Madcap Laughs and "Barrett". I'll take some photos of it later. It is UNBELIEVABLY good.
I enjoyed Madcap Laughs, though I haven't got round to listening to Barrett.
I enjoyed Madcap Laughs, though I haven't got round to listening to Barrett.
Little easier to listen to. Madcap is mental.
Lots of stuff crops up over and over in Pink floyd, its kinda cool. Also Keep Talking feat. Microsoft Sam, such a cool song.
Haha, I think that's supposed to be Stephen Hawking.
