Atom Heart Mother is an excellent album, but I'm afraid nothing will ever have the same impact as Echoes did the first time I heard it. Echoes has ascended beyond mear mortal music, it reigns over from musical-Olympus, striking down sampled autotuned cash grabbing songs and granting truly creative pieces with the ability to wow and stun their listeners.
Echoes is mai waifu~
Fair enough, Echoes can dominate a human being into submission. Atom Heart Mother is simply one of those songs that can simply create some kind of likeable character in your mind.
Echoes is someone I'm afraid of, when I hear it I can't really get away from it. It takes over your soul sometimes. :ohdear:

Instrumentals are pretty good. I'm not sure on the vocals, seems a little overdoing what they're trying to sing.
It's okay, but in my personal opinion... it butchers the original. Like most Pink Floyd covers.

i thought it was pretty bad ass
it takes balls to cover an entire pink floyd album
but thats just my opinion and im also a les claypool fan so yeah
Yeah, well... my favourite Pink Floyd album is actually Animals. :smug:
The atmosphere on the original version of Dogs is lost in that cover. It is there slightly... but it is just a kind of "punk" vibe that ruins it as a cover.
yeah man
i fucking love animals dude on new years me and by freind got stoned and lisened to the whole album on my record player backwards.
it was trippy as fuck

Marvin Gaye Sr. did the right thing.

I can't remember when you said that last. Definitely somewhere in this section. :v:

I'd say it is pretty good (besides the annoying vocal). I'm in support as seeing a cover as a reinterpretation rather than a replication.
I'm against covers like below, but that may just be my extreme hatred for what she did

Na, I'm all up for covers. But if they have no actual resemblance in terms of what the original gave, or do anything new with it. Then I say it doesn't do much.
The instrumental is good.
How about this cover of Run Like Hell?

Or this cover of Comfortably Numb?

Best cover out there imo

Those were both pretty bad. Neither of the artists realise why the original song was as great as it was, when done in such drastically different styles, it just seems... it doesn't work.

I think you'll find the worst cover of a Pink Floyd song is the dance remix of Another Brick In The Wall Part II... it's another in the long line of people who completely failed to realise what the song was talking about (I think it was even called 'We don't need no education' :gonk:)

Heard a dubstep remix of it. It was awful.

Woah, I just realised how well John Wetton's vocal style would fit in Floyd.

I could have fooled anyone into thinking it was Floyd. :v:

The guitar work is nothing like anything from Floyd, and Muir's percussion is very un-Floyd, but Wetton would work great. He's in ASIA (the band) right now, isn't he?
