I am intrigued to listen to this album

Listening to Meddle for the first time
Seems okay, up to A Pillow Of Winds
My cover of the Comfortably Numb solo. Yes, it has been covered thousands of times before, but this is just to showcase how close I could get to Gilmour's tone on the album version. I've found that double tracking the audio and slightly detuning and slightly delaying the copied track is the key to achieving the sound...

Disliking Meddle is a serious criminal offence you know.

Do you mean this as in
"Its bad after A Pillow Of Winds"
or as in
"I've only listened to A Pillow Of Winds so far"?
Really wanna give Meddle another listen now. My favourite track right now's probably Fearless.
Echoes would be my obvious choice, but if that doesn't count, either One Of These Days or San Tropez.

Me too.

I still haven't gotten around to listening to Ummagumma, More or The Final Cut. Which one shall I go for first?
More

My copy belonged to my dad and he put the sticker at a really fucking weird angle.
Anybody have Delicate Sound of Thunder, the live album? That album kick ass, and it has the best version of the Comfortably Numb solo ever.

Even better than the Pulse version?

Ummagumma is a great experience compared to the other two.

Great album, some superb recordings there.
My mom has all the Pink Floyd vinyls :v:
She has a lot of Vinyls in the basement. I'm walking off with all the Pink Floyd ones.
Shit-ton of bootleg videos of Comfortably Numb from the 1994 tour. Just to give you guitar players out there guys a sense of how Gilmour improvises, his real unadulterated guitar tone not post-processed as on the PULSE dvd, plus great footage of that giant mirrorball/flower thingy.

If she's a Floyd fan she must have some other interesting artists. Take a closer look.

That's the kind of response I'd expect from pretentious beatles fans

I meant at the time that's what I was up to
No songs on it were bad, that said I didn't really dig it.
Still think Wish You Were Here is their best album

I would've thought you liked their psychadelic stuff a lot more... Seeing as you boast how good it is to get high.
That means I'm more of a druggie than you (although I'm not) :smug:
:smug: getting high is good but it doesn't affect your musical tastes
Thanks for calling a druggie though
I beg to differ.... Actually not
But still, even the musicians hated their psychadelic period. If you can somehow get into their head and figure why they made that Cow album, then you'll enjoy it.
Why did they hate their psychedelic period
it was awesome
Today is my birthday. I got the CD of Wish you were here and the Division Bell, stocking a beginner Pink Floyd fan's album count up to 3. Its hard to find vinyls in Australia though so I'm sticking with CD's (for now).
Anyway, The Division Bell has been an interesting experience for me I think. I don't think its half as good as the other albums (excepting a few songs like Marooned and High Hopes and maybe What Do You Want From Me) but there's something about it that makes me feel as if its one of their best albums in a way. I think its my knowledge that its their last album to date and in the knowledge of that, the album starts to shape itself in a different way for me.
Happy Birthday dude, enjoy your Floyd albums.
