There was a bunch in that Roger Waters thread
Of people here posting their own photos? :raise:

My digital camera has shite batteries and my analogs aren't allowed in there, also you couldn't do flash photography because it'd ruin the projection equipment.
Anyhow, I wouldn't have made any pictures anyway, the experience was just too hypnotizing.

Pretty much in the same situation as you. Pictures would've been nice. But the night I went will always be in my head.
On the night I went, some of the kids from the local schools who came to sing Another Brick in the Wall, part 2, started break dancing during the solo.

This is one of the few shows that you could say had everything. Pyrotechnics, amazing projected images, a big fucking wall that's 30 feet high, a model plane crashing into a fiery explosion, giant inflatable puppets, giant inflatable pig, a pop-out hotel room, and break dancing kids.

Nice, you got the the UK pressing.
I'm thinking about listening to the whole Pink Floyd discography again, except this time I'll try to make reviews of some sort.

I'm starting to think I'm fully accustomed to every Pink Floyd album.
The only ones where I feel I still need a bit more time over is More and Saucerful of Secrets.
But I've still listened to them a few times anyway.
All I can do now is dig in for more obscure stuff.
I need to listen to More more. :v:
I need to listen to More more. :v:
More or less, yeah. :smug:
I'm thinking of getting the Cow Album next or maybe Relics, because the album artwork is so cool :3:. So far, my growing Floyd collection is: Dark Side, The Wall, Ummagumma, Meddle, Wish You Were Here , and I think that is it. Ummagumma is my most recent addition and I absolutely love it.
Fun fact: The artwork for Relics was done by Nick, and is apparently the only piece of artwork he's ever made with his architectural experience
My store has Relics on vinyl, I should probably find some sense and actually get it.
The only reason I would buy Relics is for the studio version of Careful With That Axe, Eugene
So far I have The Final Cut, The Wall, The Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, The Division Bell, Wish You Were Here and Meddle.
What should I get next?

Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Getting Meddle on CD. Once I complete my CD collection, I'll start Vinyl.
Dad also got me a shirt and I'm getting a dvd. I'm aiming to hoard a huge collection eventually that I can sell for lots and lots of money when I get older.
Fun fact, I didn't listen to Pink Floyd untill a friend gave me a DVD with footage of the Syd Barrett stuff cause he thought it was shite. Still think Barret era floyd is the best followed by Roger Waters the Wall era, there probably won't be much people who agree with that.
For me the best is the 'prog' era, second best being the Gilmour era
I'm not much for the "Wall/Final Cut" era. I'd say I liked the prog era first then the psychedelic era and then finally the Gilmour era
For me it would go Full band, Gilmour, Waters the Wall, , Barrett, Waters Final Cut. But its a poor distinction because Gilmour's stuff is only 0.001% preferred to the Wall. and I LOVE the wall.
I guess I would say that Full Band was phenomenal and Gilmour was amazing, Waters was fantastic, Barrett was good but not my thing, and Final Cut was just not good to me at all.
But I prefer Gilmour because I'm a guitarist.
What does FP think? Is Gilmour or Waters more successful at the moment? Its really hard to judge that.

The Final Cut album era goes with The Wall. They're not as good as each other, but in the same ball part.

2 years ago I would've said Gilmour hands down. But this tour is truly breathtaking for this era... I'm amazed it's this popular.

I know, but I love the Wall and really dislike the Final Cut so I felt the need to differentiate that. Plus the Wall still had a small amount of floyd input.
Anyway yeah, so am I. The wall is just fantastic but I still love On An Island. I would say they're both as popular as each other, but only now - 2 years ago I dont think Waters was half as popular and Gilmour was just as popular as he is now.
Anyway for me they're in different fields of music anyway so whatever.
I think the tours Gilmour did with Floyd from Momentary Lapse until Division Bell and then leading up to On An Island made him very popular.
Do you think his record would have sold that many copies if he weren't?
Look at Waters' solo sales, they're slim.

Well, yeah
If Roger ever does release another studio album, it will sell quite a bit now :3:

I dunno why he went insane and released an opera.

I saw somewhere that he actually is working on one.

This was rumours a while ago, but I saw in an interview that he's still working on it apparently. I'll have a looksie.
Roger Waters solo album
Scheduled to be released in 2003
I think he missed that deadline a bit :v:
The difference between Waters and Gilmour's solo stuff is that Gilmour has really tried to make his work accessible, whereas Waters has really gone for the whole "these are MY ideas and I'M presenting them how I like"
I'm told you're recording an album called Heartland. Any truth to that?
"That might well be. It might be called Heartland or it might be called something else. I have a ton of songs I've written. I keep meaning to get around to going in the studio and making it into an album.

When you do have a new album how will you release it? Your last studio release was in a different era, but you're also savvy about downloads. You've kept one foot in each school.
"I have no idea what I would do. The whole industry has been turned on its head. I don't think anybody has a clear idea of which way to go. I haven't heard the album yet, but the Eagles did that deal with Wal-Mart and that was their primary outlet. They did big numbers, like a million and a half records, without any record company being involved. I don't know which way it'll all go. I do know one thing, though: everybody should immediately download (Levon Helm's) Dirt Farmer. Best thing I've heard in 10 years. It is absolutely succulent. It's so cool. I only heard about it about a week ago. I downloaded and I sat there and listened to it with my mouth hanging open. I always knew he was great and I've kept in touch with him a little bit over the years. Not enough, sadly. But he's in such great voice. I always say to people the thing that changed everything for me was the Beatles and (The Band's) Music From Big Pink. Music From Big Pink changed the whole way that musicians felt about recording. You can so hear how large a contribution (Helm) made. Obviously everyone in the band was great. Robbie (Robertson) wrote great songs. But Levon was for me the heart and soul of the thing. They were all great, Rick (Danko), Garth (Husdon) and Richard (Manuel), they were all fantastic."
In my mind, its on his list of things to do. I think once the Wall is done he'll get round to it then maybe retire. Hopefully nothing happens before that, he's fair old.
But I'm also expecting another Gilmour album. I'm not quite sure why, just am.

Wikipedia says it was written by some friends of his and he converted it to music for the French stage but French opera directors refused because he was English.
