I don't know. While they were messed up in the head a lot of their live performances were forgotten about.
They kind of thought about something and just went along with it.
Apparently this one is one of the most widely bootlegged because it was recorded on radio. but fair sure its another version of the man and the journey suite.
Also if you can find a bootleg of scream thy last scream get it because nick mason is lead on it, I think

Interesting voice.
Could have been fun if he sung a bit later.

I was discussing with my friend (another huge Floyd fan) yesterday about how most of Pink Floyd's earlier albums felt very "incomplete" in terms of concept and songwriting. Mostly because they were trying to find their voice after Syd Barrett left. He thought that most of their more experimental stuff (Careful with that Axe, Eugene, Atom Heart Mother Suite, Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, etc) were very lacklustre and forgettable compared to other experimental efforts in prog during that era. However, we both agreed that Wish You Were Here, Meddle and The Dark Side of the Moon were the perfect Pink Floyd albums.
What do you guys think?
[editline]sdf[/editline]
wow i'm being very wordy today
"Lacklustre" and "Forgettable" are the wrong words to use when judging music. In any way, if you see someone use them you know they are being foolish.
I personally prefer the psychedelic era, although it makes sense to say their later work was more honed in due to concept.
But Saucerful of Secrets will forever be one the greatest attempts at psychedelic music.

That artwork boggles the mind, and if you can somehow get into the mode of their psychedelic stuff then you will realise their artistic merit.
They weren't as musically defined as they ended up to be, but goddamn were they artistic.
Bootlegs
What are these ones, I wonder...
Let's find out
Interstellar Fillmore - soundboard recording in san francisco, also released as Interstellar encore.
Animal instincts - Oakland colosseum of animals...am I right in thinking a stadium performance?
Stoned Alone - "I get stoned (stoned alone)" was an unreleased barrett. Live somewhere. Can't find anything.
Libest Spacement Monitor:

A track!
The one you posted is a BBC recording I believe also known as Phenomena.
Amazing Pudding in Bath:
Amazing Pudding the track was an early prototype of Atom Heart Mother.
Amazing pudding the show was an audience recording that contained the violence sequence.
Omay Mad:
French I think. Track listing:
01-Oenone.mp3
02-Fingal's Cave.mp3
03-Insterstellar Overdrive (Live).mp3
04-Crumbling Land (Original long studio version).mp3
05-Rain in The Country (Studio).mp3
06-The Embryo (Live).mp3
Crumbeling land - Original long stu (other version).mp3

The latter were definitely better but Pink Floyd did push the bounds of music while they experimented quite a lot. Some of their early stuff was great.

This is a floyd song. Roger Waters wrote it for Floyd in 1968, but it wasn't recorded until Marianne Faithful put it on her album.
Also apparently they wrote an ambient album between Momentary Lapse and the Division Bell called The Big Spliff but never released it
The Big Spliff but never released it
Where did you get this info?
Where did you get this info?
Nick Mason released a book about it
but I say 'apparently' because I dont even think I believe that one myself

Yeah some of the fan made bootleg covers are just terrible.
Anyways, just a few more days till Gilmour is in his rightful place at the top of The Wall...

Also for some reason I was listening to On The Turning Away but it scrobbled as Blood And Thunder so my friend and I spent a while trying to think of what a Pink Floyd version of Blood And Thunder would sound like
Since 1967 Pink Floyd have produced one of the most outstanding and enduring catalogues in the history of recorded music. All 14 original Studio albums have now been painstakingly digitally remastered by James Guthrie (co-producer of The Wall), and are reissued with newly crafted packaging and booklets created by the band’s long-time artwork collaborator Storm Thorgerson.
All albums!
This is coming soon, AND it has previously unreleased material on it. Yessssss
Major Pink Floyd release campaign, Why Pink Floyd…?, to include unreleased music from the archives, collectors’ box sets and complete studio recordings remastered.
Pink Floyd and EMI Music, whose association dates from 1967, announce a comprehensive release schedule, to be launched on September 26, 2011, encompassing CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, SACD, an array of digital formats, viral marketing, iPhone Apps and a brand-new single-album ‘Best Of’ collection.
The legendary band, who are still one of the most successful and iconic artists of all time, recently signed an agreement with EMI which has allowed the development of a multi-format programme of packages, many containing archive material that has been collated during an extensive process between EMI and Pink Floyd for a range of media formats.

I just creamed all over my seat. I never expected to have this thread at a time when more pink floyd stuff was coming out
All albums remastered by Guthrie, does that mean 5.1 meddle?
Also, this is their new best of cd's track listing:
Hey You
See Emily Play
The Happiest Days Of Our Lives
Another Brick In The Wall pt2
Have A Cigar
Wish You Were Here
Time
The Great Gig In The Sky
Money
Comfortably Numb
High Hopes
Learning To Fly
The Fletcher Memorial Home
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (edit)
Brain Damage
Eclipse
Probably people are going to complain about repackaged crap but it seems to be all remastered, which might mean 5.1s. I'm excited.
Discuss!
Why are Pink Floyd so ashamed of Atom Heart Mother? It's an amazing song.
Was walking down the street and put "Learning to Fly" on, looked at the sky ahead and felt like I was soaring. Song's awesome:pcgaming:
[editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
I doubt they'll do a 5.1 mix without both Waters and Gilmour present.
Yeah, Waters would throw a bitch-fit.
Fripp put a SHIT load of effort with Steve Wilson in order to get a 5.1 mix out.
I don't think the members care any more.

Waters doesn't have any say, he can bitch as much as he likes but I doubt he will
Really it seems to me like they might, and I really hope they do. Pink Floyd did sign a totally new deal with EMI at the beginning of this year to release new shit so this could be just what we need
Did Guthrie's remaster of DSOTM have a 5.1 mix?
Well they won't be that good if Floyd members aren't there.
It's not truly Floyd.
So a friend and I were discussing what would be on the 6 discs on the Dark Side Of the Moon Immersion edition. What we came up with:
CD1: The album
CD2: Unreleased live recording
CD3: Demos/other bonus material
CD4: Roger Waters sobbing into a microphone
CD5: David Gilmour soloing for 50 minutes
CD6: The entire band discussing oysters
