I gave Animals a good listen today. What's everyone's favorite song on it?
Mine would have to be "Pigs (Three Different Ones)".
Dogs.
"Dragged down, by the stone, by the stone, by the stone, by the stone, by the stone, by the stone..."
My favorite part. The first time I heard it I didn't like it, but the more and more I listened to that song, the more and more I realized how awesome it was.

Yeah, either that or Dogs are definitely the two best tracks on Animals, imo. The entire album is just jizztastic but if I absolutely had to choose a favorite track, it would probably be Pigs (Three Different Ones). Of course, one could simply argue that there are too few tracks.
I really hope that's true, considering he did coke in the late 80s into the 90s, which prematurely ages your heart.
Yeah his wife broke his coke addiction, love her for that
But rumour has it she's been writing more lyrics for him! So there may be something yet.

Tie between Pigs (Three Different Ones) and Dogs
Pigs because I love yelling HA-HAAA CHARADE YOU AAAREEEE whenever it comes up, and Dogs because the end part (Who was..) is amazing.

Dogs. Always, that has some smooth seqeuences.
Some great Gilmour vocals too.
Here's a question:
Piper At The Gates of Dawn or Division Bell

Oh come on make it a hard choice
Dark Side of The Moon or Wish You Were Here?
Dark Side.
Wish You Were Here is too "understandable" as compared to the other. :3:

And how is it easy to choose from first and last albums?
Honestly it comes out as a stalemate to me.
Both have their own awesome qualities that match each other too well.
On another note - HA-HAAAAA, CHARADE YOU ARRREEE
Ummagumma or Atom Heart Mother?

Ummagumma
What was Roger's favourite album?
What was Roger's favourite album?
Fair sure it was the Wall
When Live8 happened, Waters got in an argument with Gilmour because he wanted to start the Live8 show with In the Flesh and go on to do Brick Pt II, but Gilmour was just like "No fucking way, we're doing DSOTM".
Pros and Cons is my favourite Roger obsessed album.
I still don't know how the band broke apart at the start of Wall.
It's what happens with big ambitious projects.
Same thing happened to White Album.

Big ego thing on Rogers part tbh
A lot had to do with Waters, but a lot had to do with the other members not wanting to contribute. It's like when nobody but you wants to make music, you kind of assume leadership of the band. It's pretty obvious Waters didn't stop others from contributing and they admit that.
To put it simply, he got extremely frustrated with everyones lack of contributions and quit, also, HE DIDN'T FIRE RICHARD, he quit too.
I think Roger's assumption that Pink Floyd was over after he quit was justified. I mean if you're the only one making songs and nobody else wants to make songs and you leave, do you really expect them to start making songs? They did, but I think it was more in retaliation to Water's statements.

Mine is Sheep.
Sheep's pretty much my favorite Floyd song overall.

A lot of Gilmour's songs on About Face were intended to be on the Final Cut but Waters didn't give Gilmour enough time to finish them, which is why they ended up on About Face.
It wasn't that the other band members didn't contribute - it was that Waters was able to write music faster, and became impatient with their progress. Wright didn't contribute to Animals, yeah, but he did get fired on the Wall and his relationship with Waters by then was dead anyway, and he wasn't around for the Final cut or MLOR.
Gilmour was a slow writer, and its a fact that the record companies offered Floyd a bonus if they got the album done quicker - if more time was given, Gilmour would have contributed quite a bit more on the Wall and the Final Cut, and its not as if he didn't contribute on Animals or WYWH.
So they did actually intend to contribute. Waters just wrote faster and so obviously they didn't get the time they needed.
Some of About Face sounds like Momentary Lapse.
Atom Heart Mother is the most artistic they've been.
Agree? :3:
I think that award would go to Animals, but I don't know if my opinion should matter because I have a crazy love for that album. I don't quite like AHM though.

The thing is. Animals isn't about "expressionism" and "ambiguity". It's more about society and is far more understandable as a metaphor.
Although musically, I think it's their best. That's just me, but in terms of creating something out of the unknown... you gotta give it to cow.
Or Saucer.

That's sick. Need more bootleg.
And for those of you who think all Pink Floyd bootleg covers suck:
