You guys really want me to throw you into the wall? :smug:
I'll you so far you'll make it to the dark side of the moon
If you guys don't Stop fighting I'll call the Piper At The Gates Of Dawn and he'll come down with his Saucerful of Secrets and beat your ass all the way to the Division Bell.

Your head, shoved up it. :slick:
The beginning of one of their songs sounds like the doctor who theme song
I know exactly what you mean. It's One of These Days, I think.
If it's off Meddle it is, and I'm pretty sure it is
Also I'm not a huge fan of echoes, I think it should've been broken down into a couple songs
also that song Emily is pretty good, not sure what album it's from. Spent maybe a fifth of the weekend listening to the assorted floyd albums we had I hadn't listened too, dark side of the moon and meddle and some compilation album
Come to the conclusion I only really enjoy Wish You Were Here, and some parts of Meddle

See Emily Play is on the US version of Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Get that album, you'll like it.
It's catchy, not much like their other stuff. Sounds a whole lot different. Really reminded me of the beatles

Funny you should say that because I feel the same kind of way.
More "space-rocky" but the production is pretty much similar sounding.
Heard any Syd Barrett solo efforts?
nope
nope
Tried Gilmour's On an Island album?
I haven't really heard anything floyd related whatsoever until about three months ago when I listened to Wish You Were Here

You'll really like On An Island if you really like Wish You Were Here. Want youtube?
also yesterday my mother gave me a tape with Pink Floyd written on it, she must've taped it herself
Going to enjoy that later this week

It's now on the list of things to dl before the end of the month, marked with a priority of 7

Check this, En-Guage. It's his live performance of it, probably the best way to hear it the first time.
affirmative

symphonies and shit
awesome
Wish You Were Here was the first album I ever listened to from PF.
me too
I like it way better than dark side of the moon
I think I did hear Dark Side of the Moon first, but I distinctly remember not enjoying it that much.
That was 2/3 years ago, but I think it was Animals that made me realise the greatness.
I remember I was convinced that listening to Dark Side Of The Moon high for the first time would be the pinnacle of existence and akayz convinced me not to, and I listened to Wish You Were Here instead

:wtc:
When did I convince you not to listen to Dark Side? :ohdear:
I said that I was going to get baked and then sit on my lawn and listen to Dark Side in the moonlight and you were all
DON'T DO IT BRO LISTEN TO WISH YOU WERE HERE INSTEAD YO
Not in those words but I took your advice
[editline]6th June 2011[/editline]
I really only listened to Dark Side one end to the other, no interruptions on saturday for the first time
Well, I doubt I'll be able to dig through the puns to find that conversation. But damn... maybe it was for the best :3:
He said listen to it while under the influence.
I don't see why, I really did enjoy Wish You Were Here Better
I liked the ominous keyboard/synth stuff
Really want more keyboard heavy stuff. prog rock stuff

probably when it was too late
Well I'm not too knowledgable on the subject. But taking LSD will probably give you greatest music experience.
I try to achieve the sensation while sober, that's my goal. :smug:

Listen to some ELP bro.
Brain Salad Surgery.
sensation is very difficult to achieve sober
so wish I could get LSD but that's not going to happen, being crossfaded will have to do
also will do, it's added to the dl list with a priority of 8

There's so much music I need to get this month
sensation is very difficult to achieve sober
Difficult, but possible with force.
I know people can say "oh it's like trying to stab yourself to prepare yourself for being stabbed"
But seriously, some of the stuff I see in music... it gives me the greatest thrill.
everyone has those moments anyway, they're not unachievable sober
alcohol will not help with music though
