It is hard to deny that Momentary Lapse of Reason was half of an effort
Needless to say I still love it.
Ofcourse. It just needed a theme to it I reckon. It still doesn't feel like a Pink Floyd album to me. But The Division Bell did, and without Roger, that was quite a feat to accomplish
Most ambitious work Gilmour ever artistically controlled.
On An Island is a nice accompanyment to it.
1) The Wall
2) Dark Side Of The Moon
3) Wish You Were Here
4) Momentary Lapse Of Reason
5) Obscured By Clouds
6) Animals
7) The Division Bell
8) The Final Cut
9) Meddle
10) The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn
11) Ummagumma
12) A Saucerful of Secrets
13) Atom Heart Mother
(I haven't heard More)
It's probably more artistic than I rated it. Re-rate.
The Wall has to be Floyd's best
The first quarter I could listen to over and over, but as a whole I don't think so. I don't think I could get more out of it with loads of repeat listens either.
I still think it's up there. Certainly better than DSOTM. Though Animals is quite a hard album to top, I must say
Dark Side of The Moon is really listenable, to be honest.
There's something about that album that I still don't fully understand, so I don't think rating it will do much justice for me.
But yeah, Animals = Win.

8) The Final Cut
9) Meddle

:raise:
Honestly, Comfortably Numb is probably the best song Floyd ever did
If he likes it more then I can't complain, just surprised.
:raise:
I ranked them in order of how much I enjoyed them, not how "good" they are.
Meddle is an enjoyable listen, but Final Cut is far more consistent.
You're right about consistency.
But I would've found more thrills in Meddle, it being more creative.
Nothing wrong with Final Cut though, it's a good album.
I'm not a fan of the Final Cut, too Roger-y

Fuck, Just noticed that Syd died a day after my birthday :saddowns:
Nobody Home is probably one of the best tracks on The Wall.
got nowhere to fly to
fly to
fly to
Comfortably Numb and The Trial are the best in my opinion.
In The Flesh
In The Flesh?
Run Like Hell
Waiting for the Worms
All the "Hammer" Tracks are great
Comfortably Numb, Nobody Home, The Trial and Waiting for the Worms are the best in my opinion.
The latter being my favourite Floyd song. :3:
Young Lust, it's great to listen to on the radio

When I first heard that on the radio, and then the DJ said "Ok, that was Young Lust by Pink Floyd", I was like wtf that's not them.
The Wall was groundbreaking for Pop Prog.
Look what I snagged yesterday:

"This album contains lyric content which may be offensive to some members of the public."
Ha.
Fuck all that :v:
Comfortably Numb and The Trial are the best in my opinion.
As much as I love Comfortably Numb, something about One of My Turns just keeps making me want to play it. I'm thinking it's when it gets into full movement at around 2:00 and then when Roger yells at 2:45. It just gives me chills. I also absolutely love the piano part to the song.

I also think part of the appeal is that the entire segment only lasts about a single minute. So I get this crazy rush, and then it's over.
Fuck all that :v:
We've got to get on with these.

That Roger Waters album is awesome.
He looks alot better now that he is older
They've all aged pretty well to be honest. Even Richard Wright looked quite energetic and such when he passed away.
Welp, not so much Syd
He would look pretty good if that would be him in his 80's.

I never thought that you'd lose that light in your eyes...
