Question for all you fellow PF fans.
So I have three favorite bands:
1. Kraftwerk
1. Pink Floyd
3. The Beatles (obligatory)
Pink Floyd and Kraftwerk are very much tied. And that's pretty much all I actively listen to a lot. Does anyone else love Kraftwerk as much as I do? I'm just interested if it's the same mindset.
Of course, it might just be nostalgia- Kraftwerk was the first band I ever called my favorite.
Hell yeah Kraftwerk are brilliant.
I don't think I could do the favouritism thing that you did but damn good stuff :3:
Echoes = most psych song they made
I'm not even going to argue that one with anyone because nothing will ever beat my multiple experiences listening to that song specifically.
You mad? It was the cow that was most psych :pcgaming:
The title track in particular was.
Oh well. I have all Kraftwerk albums widely available on CD. Including everything from The Catalogue:

Autobahn

Radio-Activity

Trans-Europe Express

The Man-Machine

Computer World

Electric Café

The Mix

Tour de France Soundtracks
I don't have The Catalogue anyway. If I did, it would be the German one.
I also have:

Expo Remix - Three Kling Klang (official) versions of Expo 2000, as well as a bunch of remixes by various DJs, which are mostly quite excellent

Minimum-Maximum - live double album

Cracking the Code: Tribute to Kraftwerk - an EXCELLENT! tribute album!
This is something I can't even say about Pink Floyd. So yeah. Big fan.
Hell, my desktop background is the album cover to the album Tone Float by Organisation, the band that preceded Kraftwerk.
But I don't want to turn this into a Kraftwerk thread.

I think they're remastering them though.

Get a Last FM account too.
Nope. I'd get 'em if I could. And Ralf und Florian. And Tone Float.
However some of the members of the band said that they're looking into remastering their old master recordings, into a possible second boxed set, which I would get.
I doubt it'll be quite the same kind of music though.

Tell me that is not the most beautiful album cover ever
I don't think it'll be THAT different to the style on Autobahn. I think they did experiment with some vocoder things in those first albums.

The music as good as the cover?
Hell I don't know, never got the album. Wish I had it.
Goddamn I should make a Kraftwerk thread.

poor lyrics. :smug:
In High Hopes when Dave says "Magnets and Miracles", it kinda sounds like if South Park was parodying his voice
One last thing about Kraftwerk: They probably were Pink Floyd listeners.
If you listen to Autobahn (the original album version), there is a part kinda far in that sounds exactly like the synthesizer riff from On The Run.
DSOTM was released in '73: Autobahn in '74. Both songs have transportation themes (if different moods). Kraftwerk fits the picture of the stereotypical PF listener: secretive, intelligent white male
Checking the version I have, it begins at 18:05.
Trans Europe Express is indescribable. True genius that is...
It's with Dark Side of The Moon in terms of legendary albums.

Kraftwerk is fucking incredible.
But, if you like them, you will most likely love Icelandic electronic band Apparat Organ Quartet.

If you want more, just look up Apparat Organ Quartet on YouTube, these guys are fucking amazing.

They're both masterpieces. :mmmsmug::respek::arghfist::smug:

Both are incredibly excellent albums.
Man-Machine did not end extremely cohesively however. Just a fade out.
Radioactivity had its farewell track. TEE had its farewell track. Computerworld had its farewell track (very clearly sounded like the album end). Man-Machine just had the title track, which faded out, leaving you expecting more. The EXACT same problem is had with Electric Cafe.

The minimalistic nature of the title track, as well as the fade-out at the end sort of fit for me. The whole song evolving and then fading, parallel to the album's concept of humanity.
Take It Back

I got more of a futuristic "perfect" feeling when I listen to that album. It's a lot more about "imagery" than anything else.
Trans Europe Express is relateable with life nowadays.
Pink Floyd thread is now Kraftwerk
My Virgin on Demand has Kraftwerk's most recent live performance in HD to view for free, was awesome. :smug:
Oh well while we're at it check out this video I just made
