The instrumental on High Hopes is sublime.
Seriously, if it was an instrumental album I think it would've worked.
Why don't they release that?
Even lyrically, High Hopes really stands out from the other tracks. What Gilmour and his wife wrote there is easily on par with Roger's Floyd stuff. Which is a real shame given the lyrics for the other songs on that album.
And yes, an instrumental from Floyd would be great. It would be a final statement that they can transcend the need for Roger or lyrics for that matter.
I've been to the beach and listened to the waves crashing on the shore and Marooned simultaneously.
Where's psyboom when you need it... :smith:

I thought Cluster One was nice.
Here, have the whole Delicate Sound Of Thunder concert:

GilmourTrueHD is a superb channel.
It just doesn't run together like earlier albums.
As for voices, I just don't know, there was something about Wright's performance on that one song that seemed good.
Meh.
Oh well. One step closer to having all their CDs, then I'll be able to get rid of Echoes: The Best Of. God I hate compilation albums.
Echoes is actually a very good compilation. It remains faithful to the natural Floyd style by structuring it out with each track perfectly flowing and drifting into another. It's much better than you think.
Kinda filmic in a way. A Pink Floyd biopic called "Echoes" would be cool, with a non-linear plotline from the different eras, represented in the compilation. :v:
rambleramble
In reality we all know they could have released a LOT more stuff in album form. This is foolishness.
The tracklist for the new "A Foot in the Door" compilation seems awfully cheap. It's just a stripped-down version of the "Echoes" compilation for God's sake!

Well maybe if I had it I could judge that better.
It's just I'd prefer having every Pink Floyd album and listening to them, start to finish, all the way through, to get the full effect.
Right now I don't have all the albums, so it'll have to do.
I thought Cluster One was nice.
I never liked that song.

After all, Nothing's wrong with talking in song titles.
Division Bell was superb from start to finish and Marooned is one of the best tracks on there
