Whenever I'm bored I run my mic through a bunch of studio processing stuff, think autotune and melodyne and stuff, before it goes into the video game. Freaks a bunch of people out when mid talking my voice just starts randomly going up a few semitones or it sounds like someone is stretching out my throat or whatever.

If you want to spend money melodyne is pretty good. There is also just Auto-Tune if you want to be boring and use the namesake. If you are cheap, then you can try GSnap, which is free. I don't think any of these run standalone but like the DAW Reaper is free, ish, so you can just run it through there. The hard part is making an effects loop that then is fed into your game's mic input, which either requires external patching or like weird sound card programs. Basically it's a total hassle to set up.
