Who doesn't? Who wouldn't love to be able to go back to a time when your biggest responsibilities in life were a few chores, making sure you caught your favourite cartoons and calling on your friends to play, and candy?
i never had friends
:frown:
I don't miss my childhood, but I do miss all the places I've lived and been too. All the friends I had to leave behind.
Yes. My heart just broke a little bit by simply thinking about it.
No, the 90s sucked.
I know the feeling quite well, and it is interesting that you mention that you are 15. That is the same year that I went through a conside3rable amount of depression about this. I realized that I was no longer a child, and that it had officially ended 'for real.' I know exactly what it is you're going through, OP, and I feel for you.
It happens to all of us, and the only thing to do is cherish the good times and use what you've learned in childhood in your adult life. Time keeps on ticking, its everyone's worst enemy. Something we have to deal with, for the good or ill.
Cheers, welcome to the adult world. Here's your flask of melancholy, and a pack of carcinogens.
My dad never did anything together with me.

My dad beat my mom and ran off so I win
Yeah
:crying:
You're 15 years old... You're still a child. You can't be talking about the 'good ol' years' just quite yet...
I disagree, his mind has gone through a considerable amount of changes. Proportionatly speaking, by the time you are 15 you've perceptionally lived most of your life.
What I mean when I say that is that if we look at life in years, as fractions lets say, when you're 4 years old, a year would be a whole 25 percent of your existence.
Im not sure if that makes any sense, but 15 year olds are on the brink of full mental growth, they aren't looking through the pair of same eyes as they did when they were children-- keep this in mind
I look forward to the future
this thread is making me sad.
MovingSalad's post kind of depressed me, but he's right.
Oh well..
All hope isn't lost. The world will keep spinning, and hey, you aren't laying in a hospital bed bleeding to death or anything. Childhood is something that I will always regret having lost, and just recently a certain part of me is unhappy how many hours of childhood was wasted sitting in front of a television screen-- but it happens, and I damn well enjoyed it while it happened.
The way you look at things as a child will never be the way a callous old adult will. We are too settled in the world we know about, where in childhood you are unrestricted by the 'rules' put up around you. For example, before you learned to erad, your mind was not trained to look left to right, which you are doing right at this very moment right now.
THere are ways to bypass, there are moments of pensive wonder that will bring you right back to those nostalgic old days of your childhood-- particularly if you 'fall in love,' have children or do drugs.
I mention drugs because ones of psychedelic nature free up the portions of the brain that you used more frequently as a child, more specifically the right side of your brain.
The sources for the stuff I mentioned can be found on erowid.org, wikipedia, and psychology textbooks.. But uhh, don't quote me on any of it. I've just done a lot of thinking about childhood.. and the lack thereof. Try mushrooms some day or something if you feel up to it. A nice sunny afternoon after eating mushrooms with a good friend.. You'll be amazed the effect it'll have on your psyche
My child hood fucking sucked.
I miss the days where me and my friend Danny would sit in my room and play with legos and bionicles.. We would build our teams of whatever we felt like and make them fight and shit. Then we'd kick back with some multiplayer games on the consoles.
Then his dad got a job offer in another town.
Had a fun childhood, but I love the rewarding feeling of being a functioning adult in society.
I don't think there would be so many problems as we have to today if everyone had the knowledge of an adult, but the mindset and ability to have fun of a child
I miss the days of imaginary gun shooting, Lego Towns, Role Playing with friends in the woods as soldiers and criminals and shit.
I missed out on a lot of really good PS1 games :'(

Hence the saying:
"Drop Acid Not Bombs"
Getting jumped by kids three times your size, being suspended for drawing pictures of your school being sent to the 7th ring of hell by terrorists, and having an iron thrown at you by an angry and overworked mom? Hmm, no. /angst
If anything I'd now is much better. No one pays attention to you much, everyone has grown up by now so getting the shit beat out of you isn't much of an issue, parent is rarely an issue anymore, and I pretty much have everything I've ever wanted.
I'm not concerned with the past though, all my interest lies in the future.
Yes I somewhat do. I like what I have now but I miss the N64 and Ps1 age. Games then were all quality releases now you find mostly shovelware.

Chiddy Bang "Opposite of Adults" I agree with Mr Chiddy Bang, this life is a party better live it up.
I love that song.
Not really, I was a bit of a wierdo when I was younger.
I miss my childhood years also. All I really had to worry about is what time my best friend would be able to make plans.

A 15 year old clearly doesn't have nearly the same mental capacity of an adult or someone right out of their teens. There are a lot of things they don't know. While yes, their brains are making neural connections at a much faster rate than they will after their teens, they still have a lot to learn and understand.
Also, your fraction concept. By the time you are 15 you've "perceptionally" lived most of your life relative to what? OP is not from a 3rd world country so I'm sure his life expectancy is going to be greater than 30 years old according to your calculations...
i don't miss my childhood

No, but they certainly aren't kids anymore. Why do you need to argue such a statement.

Relative to the life you've lived thus far, is what I mean. You're taking what I said far too literally. For fuck's sake the people on these forums sure like to prove others wrong.
My calculations aren't looking at the future, its looking at age. A ten year old will see a tenth of his life pass by in a year, correct?
As you get older, time goes by much faster, this much we can all agree. And that is what I am relating it to. I'm not talking about his life expentancy at all, look the fuck outside the box.
I never had friends and my parents were mediocre, plus my imagination is better now than it was when I was younger so no I don't miss my childhood.
My imagination has taken a dive bomb since I was a kid, it is depressing.
I very much miss my childhood.
It's like today I thought it was Tuesday, but it was fucking Thursday. I looked up at the clock and it was 11AM and then I looked again and it was 2:30PM. I don't get it why is shit going so fast?
Time is going too fast I want what I have left to last.
