I'm such a noob at this. I germinated some seeds and waited til they cracked open. Then I planted them directly in the ground in a secluded spot in my woods. Should I have let them get a bit bigger in some pots first?
I wouldn't keep them in pots though. I want them in the ground no matter what, for certain reasons. I gave them some water to start them along and I'm going to bring them water whenever I get home before my parents in the afternoon. I'm not looking for much success. I would put fertilizer on them if anyone can suggest a decent brand to buy for a guy with not much capital.
Hey, Im going to do exact same thing - growing near forest where is more sunlight and less wind.
And im not going to use pots by the way.
Though I wanted to ask if there are frosty nights (those can happen sometimes), will covering my plants with blanket help?

It is recommended, not only do you save soil if turns out to be a male or it dies, but the plant will also absorb water more evenly. Don't worry about it, though, it's far from crucial and planting them directly in the open is fine.

A little occasional frost probably isn't going to be a huge problem anyway, but different strains handle frost better or worse that others.
