I know, its people like him that smoke weed that aggravates me.
stop rating yourself agree and get off your high horse, do some research before you say "weed will kill you if you smoke it long enough." You know people enjoy to alter their state of mind, you probably do it with a far worse drug that is accepted, thus you think it is safe and OK. you are ignorant to such an extreme that you think you need to tell people your opinion over and over. Makes me angry that a lot of people are like you
He just did you a favor. It probably wouldn't kill you but it's a shitty thing to spend money on if it becomes a habit, just like cigarettes, tobacco and other useless expensive and expendable crap.
Tobacco is waaay more addictive then cannabis, especially when smoked through a bong as you don't need to add tobacco to help it burn.
Why are there so many anti-pot faggots on Facepunch now? OP should've posted this thread in the Drug Discussion forum probably to avoid them.
http://www.facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=302
dole are you seriously still posting in this thread
No i took a short break to read the creepy thread about strange noises.

Even if that's true, weed is vastly more intoxicating than nicotine, which is enough to make it a habit that can be difficult to break. Sometimes when I get headaches from lack of caffeine I wish I had not formed the habit of drinking coffee, but the key difference here is that coffee does not make me prone to crashing into trees if I decide to drive somewhere.
Getting used to drinking alcohol is pretty shitty too. As is playing World of Warcraft, and more things.
Regardless of health issues, parents or gaurdians make the rules in a house, and they can do whatever they want. As far as finding a bong, it is very understandable as to why they would not want their child smoking weed.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Stop using your own made up logic and start looking at scientific studies that show that marijuana is not very addictive. They typically show that people can stop smoking weed fairly easily.
Let this thread die. No one will agree on anything and it was pretty much derailed.
Another pointless weed debate.
:downs:

Read the thread before you go claiming weed makes you a bad driver.

No real point in posting here anymore.
yeah but you're still inhaling smoke which is not good for you in any way shape or form
Where does this kind of rule come from? Is it just some kind of golden rule, that inhaling smoke is automatically bad and should be avoided.
Why not look at kind of temporary and permanent damage does it cause? Or is that too specific which would worsen your argument? I mean saying "smoking anything is not good for you" sounds a lot lot stronger the more specific statement "smoking weed does cause some temporary damage but usually isn't too severe, but long term damage can be sustained if the person smokes heavily for a few decades".

Way to go on auto-defense, mate.
I've only really said that forming habits on consumption of anything intoxicating is a bad idea even if the toll it takes on your body (including abstinence) is slim. I didn't outright speak of a physical addiction (which is the only thing medical studies can map); say you need to break such a habit for whatever reason (physical, mental, economic), you might just trivialize the issue and just not give a fuck about it if you're pretty run in on the path.
The same thing can happen with anything that is mildly or heavy intoxicating. I know this because I know what I've experienced myself, and the people around me.

okay. when you inhale smoke (tobacco or cannabis), you're inhaling tiny particles of ash and tar and other crap from the burning plant material. often this tar and other particles are carcinogens or otherwise harmful, causing things such as emphysema - this generally happens because the particles in the smoke get trapped in the alveoli of the lungs causing it all to get inflamed and horrible.
smoking tobacco is particularly bad because it also contains nicotine which is a potent poison in its own right but is also addictive.
smoking cannabis is essentially (as far as i know) non addictive but smoking it will still release this crap into your lungs, which is damaging. smoke inhalation in a fire is harmful because not only does it provoke an inflammatory response in your lungs (meaning you can't draw breath and perform gas exchange as effectively) but because it also contains toxins from things like burning plastic.
Haha! Take it back, or take his TV and say you want $500 for it?
OP clearly didnt say 'its sweet'
probably cried and begged his dad not to yell at him
Kid who lives with his parents and buys $50 of weed a month can't afford a $30 bong.
Dude, I spend $30 a week on gas.
Get a job.
dole are you seriously still posting in this thread
exactly why I called him a moron.
*long, mostly valid argument about the negative effects of smoking cannabis*
Solution: Make weed edibles or vaporize it. Problem solved.
ITT: Kiddies who don't know shit about pot.
It's bad for you
cannabis tar has anticarcinogens
as well as thc
[editline]06:03PM[/editline]
the only recorded condition you can get from the ol maryj is bronchitus
Why are we wasting time on this discussion while mister Candels' dad is being a total downer and not letting him have his sweet ass bong.
Wrong Section?

yeah maybe it has a few things in that have been linked with reduction of cancer but nevertheless it has many hundreds of things that are harmful in it.
i don't have any problem with cannabis, i'm just saying that it's not harmless.
weed doesnt kill you. You cant die from an OD on marijuana. In the history of ever, there has been no reports on a death due to marijuana alone. I watched a documentary on marijuana called The Union: The Business Behind Getting High. It explains the history of marijuana and tells facts about it.
Smoking hurts your lungs.
Before all the dumbs; this isn't an argument against weed, it's an argument against smoking anything.
Also, you're wasting money on weed.
This argument has seemed valid for a while, but times are changing..
Studies show that the particles in marijuana smoke aren't in the same league as cigarette smoke.
http://www.thoracic.org/sections/publications/press-releases/conference/articles/study-finds-no-link-between-marijuana-use-and-lung-cancer.html
So I wouldn't worry about it.
I'm sure you've all heard about how cannabis is potentially the most useful plant in the world.
It is a great treatment for a lot of medical issues. Take, for instance, this dude with multiple sclerosis:

I smoke when I get a cold. Always cures a runny nose instantly & makes me feel better.
Holy shit $32 dollars? However will you become reimbursed for that vast amount of money?
I didn't post this to be lectured how I should stop smoking pot, I love pot and I'm not going to quit just because my dad took my bong, I posted this to get some kind of idea on how to get my 25 dollars.
You're not getting $25, he just said that to get the bong off of you.
You're selfish for smoking weed in your Dad's house. Weed is illegal, and even if you don't personally agree with those laws that doesn't matter in a court of law. If you got caught with weed you'd get fucked over and your Dad might get fucked over too.

Yeah, it's not like anyone's ever done much good by non-participation in unjust law.
Well, there's that one Mahatma dude.. but people shouldn't be taking influence from him, right?
..
Cannabis was outlawed due to racism, greed, and deception. I don't care if some court wants to sustain that.
Anyway, it's like a parking ticket these days if you get caught.
