I'll never understand why people waste their money on that shit.
Seems to me that most people don't really understand the point of expensive toys. They are unique and are status symbols. As such, they can fetch quite extravagant prices. Sure, it might not be important to you to display a toy on your shelf telling the world that you can spend 44 dollars on a gundam, but to him, it mattered. Also, the clamoring that 44 dollars is too much to spend on a gundam is ridiculous. If he had the money, or got it as a gift, criticizing him for buying it would be the same as if your neighbor walked into your house and told you that you spent too much money on a computer or TV or car or cellphone, or any number of different things. What business is it of yours if he bought an expensive toy? If it made him happy, and he could afford it, good on him. Copied from here and changed the wording a bit, but the point is still the same.
