19 episodes in NGE and i gotta say shinji ain't such a bad character. also i don't really see it as being up its own ass. most of the philosophical stuff is the kind of shit adults go on about to kids, and considering the situation that generation being more philosophical is kinda understandable. what with the world being semi-post apocalyptic. I see all that stuff as a part of the series simply being a part of the over-all coming of age story that's the main point of the series. other than that the show is really great but i don't think it's super deep or anything like that, but it's still not just mindless fun either. the show is way more solid than people give it credit for here.
also steins gate [sp]how they basically have to undo everything in an attempt to get mayuri to live. all the good okarin ever did as a "mad scientist" will all be forgotten and lost... the date was heartbreaking. then ferris's dad but in the end that was okay because she was friends with them again and if you remember back to the episode she hesitates to send the d-mail because of all the friends she found, but someone just shouts "do it" or something and she does[/sp]

10 eps in and I think it's nothing special. It isn't trailer trash but yeah
It's only really from episode 22 onwards that shit goes really bonkers. And EoE makes up 80% of that.
it's not better than steins gate, the other one i'm watching right now.
in fact even though it's shaping up to be one of my favorite animes it's pretty low on the list.
Should I still watch episodes 25 & 26 of NGE after watching End of Evangelion or is there no point?

Just watched the first episode of the new Oreimo season.
Holy shit, the quality of the show has really improved. It's generally much more entertaining now and looks so much cleaner too. They really got a much better hold on subtler humor.
Will definitely continue to watch the rest of this season.

The first season was very nice, but it was consistent at all; it was very boring at times. So far the first episode of the new season hasn't missed a single beat.
