Mutta(As from Space Brothers) is a nickname for vagina in swedish, but i didn't notice until someone here pointed it out.

so step it up
Daily Lives of High School Boys is hilarious, why didn't I watch it sooner?
He was pretty against it at the start (to the point of running away), before the dying and when there wasn't much danger cause the other two units were there for backup. In fact, literally nothing goes wrong until [sp]unit-03[/sp] and he's still a whiny bitch. Most kids Shinji's age would love to pilot a robot and live with two hot girls
He's always been in danger, did you pay any attention to the show?
The first time he pilots the things he gets beat to a bloody pulp. No fucking sane person would want to set themselves in that position willingly.
Also hot girls? An old lady, a mute person with no emotions and then a bitch that constantly beats you up, yes, that sure sounds like the perfect company, I sure care about womens body when they use me as a punching bag, are way older than me or downright ignore me.
buncha bitches in dis thread
Most kids Shinji's age would love to pilot a robot and live with two hot girls
Dude what, 2 hot girls? If I had to live with Asuka I'd strange her to death. Also piloting robots is cool, but not when you get the shit kicked out of you in one, and you feel it as well as the robot.
up to this point considering all the factors i'd probably react in a similar way too.
i mean my dad who abandoned me wants me to do all this shit for him? putting myself in that position i'd let the world burn just to get back at him, but then again i'm thinking or at least trying to think like a 14 year old (irrationally)
You see, after a while I would have given in and done it, because if the world burns, I burn, and I don't want to burn. Even an irrational child would rather choose self preservation than the death of all humanity to get back at their dad.
if i ever gave in it would just be to pilot the eva to destroy everything.
shinji could have been a lot worse... he could have been me.

Can't say i'm a fan of how I think the story in attack on Titan will progress. This is based purely on the preview for the third episode.

Manga is quality. It's gonna pick up good.
I don't see a problem with that at all, I already told you, animating Nakamura there would not add anything to the scene, the important thing is seeing what Kasuga is doing and thinking, the background is there to set the setting, not to be looked at. This happens in anime absolutely all the time, the only reason you're reacting at it is because you're watching Aku no Hana more as a live-action show and less like an anime show. Your expectations are not on par with what you're watching, simply put you'er "watching it wrong".
When did I ever say they couldn't and wouldn't use depth of field? I said they had different tools at their disposal, they can not-animate characters that are unimportant AND add depth of field.
And at what point did it look like Aku no Hana's characters couldn't exist in a 3D space? All I said was that adding depth of field in anime in general is seldomly done because they don't have to, it wouldn't look good because the drawings aren't detailed or stylized well enough and it takes up time and money that are better spent on more important things.
They did it because it's an anime and the only important character in that shot is Kasuga, the others are there for the setting, it really is that simple. Would they animate them if they had the budget and time to? Maybe, but they would probably find better things to spend that time and money on that is 100x more important to the show.
There is no such thing as "rotoscoping has to do things lively or still", there are no rules for techniques, creative choices and reasons for choosing a technique exists, saying that things have to be done in a certain way is only a conservative and narrow-minded way to look at things. Whether you like it or not is an entirely different thing, but "wrong" does not exist, "wrong" in art only exists when the artist did something and it didn't turn out as he/she intended.
I also, like you are well aware of by now, disagree that they make poor judgements on when to stop animating characters, they're not doing anything differently from any anime I've ever seen, again, you're judging it from a live-action point of view, not an anime point of view.
I haven't seen episode 2 yet, and whilst I understand that that could be jarring it brings me back to the point where they'll only animate them when it's important to the scene. They are animated when they are responding to the teacher, because that holds meaning, the class is paying attention and reacting to the teachers actions, anything else would make them into ragdolls that the teacher are talking to, but when neither the teacher is doing anything to respond to and the students aren't supposed to do anything themselves animating them would not benefit the scene beyond keeping consistency, and in this case consistency is too costly in time and money for something that isn't important.
Watch episode 2, or more specifically, the scenes I mentioned. It's very important. You'll see why.
Rotoscoping isn't like traditional anime OR live action. The principal reason why is because characters currently being rotoscoped are completely redrawn every frame, even the parts of the body that may not be moving. No two frames will share the same lines. Your eye adjusts to think of this as the norm, but when it suddenly changes out of nowhere to a complete still it is incredibly distracting. Aku no Hana needs to learn how to have tact when switching between the two, and be consistent when doing so. Either the characters that aren't moving shouldn't be rotoscoped, or characters that aren't moving are always rotoscoped regardless. Aku no Hana currently throws between the two pretty often.
Normal anime will have focus characters be still pretty often, but not for extended periods of time, so it's not a big deal. Rotoscoping makes the characters not doing anything look more natural so they can stay that way for extended periods of time without the viewer being bothered, but the eye tends to wander around the screen after extended periods of time despite the fact the focus character may look natural, meaning the viewer will start to notice things like the not-moving characters in the background. It's especially bothersome when you see how lively the MC is in comparison to the cardboard cutouts in the background.
Aku no Hana is a show that heavily relies on its atmosphere, and when you break that sense of immersion it ruins part of the experience. You can't take it seriously when that happens, and it's a show that's very serious. Breaking this atmosphere often is not good at all. They don't have an unlimited budget or all the time in the world, but there are still decisions they can make here, and they're making the wrong ones.
I just finished reading Sundome, and after having my hard M side ruthlessly massaged throughout it [sp]that ending hit me right in the damn feels, chapters 73-76 completely broke the chain and I ended up in tears by the end[/sp].
In all I highly recommend it if you liked something like Aku No Hana. Only part that kinda creeped me out was MC's [sp]golden shower[/sp] fetish.
