My depression stopped and I became a hell of a lot better socially not long after I started masturbating. What now, Gary Wilson?
become buzinzis man/presiden => aquire money
Okay, I give it a try. I will install some porn filters. Should help.
I'm not going to comment on what this will or will not do, but I will say that all of you will fail.
I'm not going to comment on what this will or will not do, but I will say that all of you will fail.
That is like, your opinion. But a good way motivating the people who try.
Ok then. I bet I will fail within a week but hell, I can give it a try then. Sure will miss efukt.
Well I faild, took 1h. Went too look if there was any new video on efukt. Fuck this, I will never make it. I can maybe look less but not quit.
I'm not going to comment on what this will or will not do, but I will say that all of you will fail.
yeah well, that's just like, your opinion man.
Because we needed the image to get the reference, right?
That is like, your opinion. But a good way motivating the people who try.
This isn't some fight you can win, seriously. You're gonna fail. Every single person in the history of the world who's ever tried to do anything like this has failed. You're fighting against the most bred in, deeply rooted instinct in the human brain, you're gonna lose. Sorry. You might as well be trying to wait out boredom. I have no idea why any of you are bothering.
wow mr scorpio you just went full retard man. its only hard for the first week or so, then it gets exponentially easier. its not like youre in full horny mode 24/7, that would make it impossible. besides, when your getting action from real women instead of a computer screen, you got nothing to worry about. i bet you havent even tried, so youre just making up bullshit to try and make yourself feel better. u mad?
I'll also be in. I've not fapped in 4 days already, so.
I'm still confused what's wrong with porn. I've watched the videos and read on the site but still, I'm confused
I'm not going to comment on what this will or will not do, but I will say that all of you will fail.
I would say that attempting this forever is highly prone to fail, but simply making your sessions less frequent is perfectly doable.
I'm still confused what's wrong with porn. I've watched the videos and read on the site but still, I'm confused
Porn is good stuff. If you see good stuff constantly, you're slowly losing your excitement for it and you need even better stuff until this cycle grows out of control and you end up with erectile dysfunction. That's what he seems to be saying anyway.
I'll admit that I haven't read through the sources linked in the OP as I don't really have the time for it right now, and thus I am speaking from ignorance here, but is it not possible that it's a case of depressed and socially anxious people reaching out to pornography for the power fantasy it imbues masturbation with? I've been suffering from depression since 4th grade, brought on by a teacher that treated me like dirt. Later in life, around the 10th grade, I lost my only friend as a consequence of him stealing from my parents. Until then I rarely looked at porn, but as my 11th year of school dragged on and my depression was kicked into overdrive due to a lack of social interaction I increasingly began to rely on masturbation for that quick dose of dopamine, serotonin and endorphines. I'm not at all dismissing the science behind desensitization, but I don't think such complex issues as depression and social anxiety can be boiled down to the simple act of using pornography as a masturbation aid. Having said that, I will give this a go. If it helps with my depression, then that's great, but I'll also keep an eye on other factors in my life to make sure I don't falsely attribute any improvements to this concept.
I feel like shit now. Probably because i was used to fap when i would go home :v:
You're fighting against the most bred in, deeply rooted instinct in the human brain, you're gonna lose. Sorry.
i wasnt aware that Homo Erectus watched porn.
I can agree to no masturbation, but no porn? That makes about as much sense as the whole 'video-games are bad for you' argument. IE: None. [editline]17th April 2012[/editline]
This isn't some fight you can win, seriously. You're gonna fail. I'm in.
I fap to stuff that technically isn't porn all the time. So I guess I could quit fapping to actual porn. Wouldn't change my fapping habits at all though, so I don't see what it would accomplish. [editline]17th April 2012[/editline] or is anything you can possibly fap to considered porn in this case? O.o
No porn? Forever? Unacceptable. :v:
I fap to stuff that technically isn't porn all the time. So I guess I could quit fapping to actual porn. Is watching Nikita considered porn?
Depends, what weird things do you fap to? Or do you not want to talk about it?
I don't consider them weird, but for example if there's this hottie you know in RL that you have sex fantasies about, you could find a sexy facebook pic of her (possibly showing lots of skin, like a bikini pic) and fap to it while fantasizing about fucking her brains out. Or there's this hot actress in this movie, and she makes a nude/sex scene in this regular non-pornographic movie. (or you just find her hot and fap to any and all pictures and film-scenes of her) Or maybe you discover a hot (underwear?) model while you're reading a magazine in the bathroom. I could go on, but you get the picture.

Don't do it - it's still not OK.
In the OP.
Sign me up, i've been wanting to know how a life without porn feels like. Based on what i've read, porn of just one person is allowed, isn't it?
Yep. Swapping porn daily might also work (see: all the adults that used playboy), but I'd assume it'd negatively affect recovery time.
Ultimately no speculation in the world compares so the actual act of doing or testing something. I would say that it is a good idea to test the idea regardless of you agreeing or disagreeing with it. You do not have to fully quit masturbating or fully quit watching porn, but testing this for a week would ultimately not hurt anything. I personally have been testing this for a few days, and I have noticed changes which could be probably best explained by a raise in my testosterone levels. It would be comparably logical to assume that masturbating everyday may ultimately be keeping your testosterone levels too low, which would certainly make it a good idea to decrease the frequency (such as doing it once per week). I did not make it through a full week yet, but I will make sure to post the results when I do. (or when I don't)
Based on what I've read, most people who go full sexual stop will have their libido totally gone after five days, and back in another five.
this is a very stupid idea, especially if you cease all sexual activity and stimulation during this time period. i highly reccomend against this is if you are not above the age of 18 as it could cause some sort of mental issue later in life, intentionally stifling yourself like this.
Good one
Recently (maybe a month) I've only been masturbating once every 3 days to a week, and I do believe it's helping me a lot. I still look at porn, but I never "finish". I don't think I can actually stop looking at porn forever, but I am in the progress of looking at it a lot less now. I also have a job now, and I go to school, which keeps me very busy. I want to attempt this, but I don't know if I could. I could not look at porn, but there's still plenty of things that would tempt me (TV, videos games, seeing really hot irl girls, etc). Plus, deleting the "folder"! I know its easy to do, but I spent way to much time on it to just throw it away.
Progress is progress! Either way, if you're still attached to your porn folder, you're not dedicated to rebooting.
ok i'm calling bullshit on this, that is downright illogical, if anything porn will reduce depression, sexual stimulation has been scientifically proven to release endorphins and feelgood chemicals.
Endorphins (opioids) are temporary.
What if someone merely looked at porn, but didn't "fap" to it? Would that still have negative effects, and would there be anything to gain by quitting in such a scenario?
I couldn't say. You're welcome to test it.
No looking at girls on facebook? What in the hell?
No masturbating to images of random girls you don't know on facebook.
Bullshit. Since when does masturbation have anything to do with social skills? And since when does masturbation have any influx on your confidence? I generally feel more relaxed and reinvigorated after a good fap, once I've recovered from the endorphins I feel pretty damn good. [editline]17th April 2012[/editline] So basically we're not allowed to get exposed to imagery that has even the slightest chance of being arousing? Better bunker up then, because no matter where I go I see advertisements for lingerie/underwear and swimming outfits...
Since low dopamine is linked to anxiety and depression (see: sources) Exposure to imagery of porn while masturbating, not of slightly arousing anything.
Is it fine if you look at Facebook or w.e other site's pictures, but you're still fantasizing in your head (real girls, no porn stars or porn of course)?
Do you know the girls? If so, yeah, it's fine. If you're doing random searches, no, that's not ok.
I don't masturbate nor look at porn. I do every now and then look at pictures of models like Ciny May and shit. Do I need to stop? I'm in tho if he answer to my question is yes.
You can, yeah, as long as you don't swap out the models on a minutely basis.
I'm up for it, but does it count if it's with my girlfriend? We've talked about watching porn together.
This is a tricky one, because if you're watching porn together, you're focused on the porn and not each other, I'd assume. I'll add you to the list, but be careful.
caved in, feels shitty
Try again in a week.
They say porn can cause desensitization, but I sure as hell still get horny at the littlest things. can anyone explain how that works? lol Anyway about to go to bed, gunna take a while to fall asleep since I used fapping to help me get tired faster. Day one completed without fapping. The real challenge will be in two days when I come home drunk.
Yeah, for the first fiveish days (based on the testimonials) your libido skyrockets.
I'm not going to comment on what this will or will not do, but I will say that all of you will fail.
OK.
This isn't some fight you can win, seriously. You're gonna fail. Every single person in the history of the world who's ever tried to do anything like this has failed.
I feel like shit now. Probably because i was used to fap when i would go home :v:
You'll get through it - go do some pushups or something.
In that case: In the OP.
Note when I said that, I meant actually going out of your way to find randoms on facebook, because that still has the same "get while the gettin's good" mentality.
When I don´t fap there is no actual reason watching porn, atleast in my eyes. If I look back I got used to masturbating. I have so much "experience", I can finish in 10 seconds. That´s not worth it. I just want the dopamine just like a drug addict. But this feeling after masturbation is always disappointment. That´s the reason I atleast try.
Count me IN!
Oh man, I should not have looked at the graphs that OP put in the first thread post. I did not want to see my mood bottom out after 10 days, that could be troublesome.
