No-Porn Forever - are you a bad enough dude to reboot?

Dear diary, t'is the eve of day 2, I haven't slept the past night, instead spent it weeping of my lost hobby. I ache to stroke the magnificent golden mane that is my cock, but refrain from doing so with my utmost unbreakable will.
Naw, JK, day 2.5, ignoring any provocative imagery or females at school and the interwebz/tv. I shallst master this beast, and am prepared to spread my seed in the vagina of every female ranking above a 7.3/10 in a 300 kilometer radius. This includes school-going whores. They shallst be mine for the picking.

Your avatar is a deadly, but I've broken it's grasp on me.
Honestly you don't have to give up anything.
Personally, I don't see what this proves. Masturbation has been proven to have many benefits including increased sperm potency. It's also a stress reliever and can prevent various types of cancer.
While it doesn't say "no masturbation", it says "no porn." If you're not masturbating to porn, you're still mentally imaging something that turns you on, and in that case it's just the same as porn. Instead you'll look back and think of previous porn you watched that you found great. You can't erase your memory.
I don't think imagining or memory is the same as watching. Your brain is tricked when you watch movies into thinking the movie is real. That's why you have nightmares about zombie movies or get excited during a thriller, your brain is being tricked. So if you are watching porn it follows that your brain is being tricked there as well.
[editline]18th April 2012[/editline]
By the way when I say trick the brain I mean the more subconscious part of it. Of course your conscious mind is aware of it being a fantasy, but not all your brain is quite as smart as the conscious.
This is bullshit. No one will stop me from watching porn ever. An I do have an excellent sexual performance despite all the porn rotting my brain.
This whole thing smells like church to me.

I still say "Challenge Accepted."
I've done this before for like a month were i just didnt feel like looking at porn, but now that im challenged to it it reminds me i cant look at it and then I want to :C Curse this cruel world we live in!
In first world countries we stop looking at porn for fun
Yes.
Half of us wouldn't survive without it.
But then there's the other half of us who don't have a partner.
It wasn't made awkward from me, it was make awkward from the situation we were in.
Would the idea of the 'situation being awkward' exist if you didn't think it up in your mind?
Do animals have 'awkward situations'?
Sure. Add me.

Er...
Your brain isn't tricked, it's your interest in it. You get the same stimulation from reading a book- it has nothing to do with tricking your brain. When you're scared, excited, or whatever from watching a movie, it's because you care about it. There's no trickery involved. It's your will to involve yourself in it that matters. That's why different people have different reactions. Some people shit themselves at jump scares and scary games, other people don't bat an eyelash. Some people care fully about a character in, say, Twilight, others simply don't. Given a bit of that is the believability of the situation for most people, but that's not the largest part. It's you. Your conscious and subconscious mind have little to do with it.
So when you watch porn, your brain doesn't think "Dude I'm boning a chick right now". Just like you don't get adrenaline rushes from a car chase in a movie- well, you might, because you're actively interested, but your brain doesn't believe you're in that situation. Otherwise we'd all be adrenaline junkies. Watching a gory movie doesn't make you more prone to violence, and your brain doesn't actually believe that you've killed, or are capable of, killing anyone.
I want to see some serious research to back this up. Not some graphs made by a few users, and small claims, with pseudo-forum-psychologists claiming they understanding the complex interactions of dopamine with the brain, when even the real psychologists and M.D.s hold a small grasp on how NT such as dopamine really work.
Correlation =/=Causation
Add to me the list. I will give this a try starting tommorow.
Is there valid evidence that all the pro's are true?
Day 4, its gets easier the longer you go it seems, day 2 feels the worst though.
I hadn't checked GD this week and fapped yesterday. Can I still get put on that list? I fap maybe twice a week anyway and have started jogging every other day so this shouldn't be so hard.
Why is this so hard for you all? I've been going for two days and I've not been "craving" porn or going crazy. Maybe it's just me.
To be fair, there is some evidence, I guess, that over-masturbating starting early one and continuing into adulthood will lead to ED.

Wait until you get to a week and a half.
That's when the fun starts...
Also, I'm trying this. I tried it a long time ago but failed after a month.
Redemption time baby.
It feels like everyone on facepunch is in on this
Put me on that list
Let's fucking do this
I'm in.
In first world countries we stop looking at porn for fun
Well in third world countries they don't need porn. They have rape. And AIDS. Lots of AIDS
Why is this so hard for you all? I've been going for two days and I've not been "craving" porn or going crazy. Maybe it's just me.
You gotta not think about it.
So if it's not a main part of your life, you're fine.

FP no porn 2012
Count me in. I don't know how long I can keep it up, but whatever. I guess everyone has to grow up sometime, right?
Does looking at pornography/pornographic art without fapping have an adverse effect on this?
What about nudity/sex scenes in movies?
Well I guess if it doesn't even give me a boner it should be fine
Does looking at pornography/pornographic art without fapping have an adverse effect on this?
I'd assume so, but to a lesser degree - still, I wouldn't condone it.
