a lot of the hatred comes from the fact that the middle east is rife with fundamentalism and religious oppression.
i personally hate islam just as much as i hate christianity and judaism. all of these religions are fucked up in their own right. however, that doesn't necessarily say much about the average christian/muslim/jew. as long as they don't literally interpret their holy books i have no problem with the average person of faith.

Some of us hate the religion but not the people.
