This thread holds way to much cynicism for a movie based around one of the best cartoons to be on TV in like the last five years. I don't like M'night, but I loved the show. So heres hoping.

I might see this, but I'm kinda expecting disappointment a little. Everyone I hear Aang's voiceacter's voice in the commercials, I shudder. Especially when that kid screams, it's horrendous.

Isn't there like an unwritten rule that you have to wait a certain number of years before making a live-action adaptation?

I think my main 2 problems is that the child playing Aang is a fat bald chinese child. Also from what I can see, they are trying to jam 2 seasons into 1-2 hours. They are gonna take out [b]SO[/b] much original plot. I liked the cartoon better :frown:

i love the show but this looks ok. im going to go see only because movies where im at are only 5 bucks now.

I thought Avatar was this when the hype first started.

Airbender will most likely end up being shit. Good show, great storyline =/= good live-action movie. Even if the original creators will be involved, I think it'll be terrible. The special effects look purty, but that's about it. I'm still going to watch it, but I won't be surprised if I come out disappointed.
